I just bumped into my ex wife - we divorced 3,5 years ago - and she has a new partner while my life still seems to be on hold. It makes me feel sad, as I am really struggling to reach out to people, but I can't overcome my insecurities.

ChatGPT seems to be my best friend these days.

@pliepla sorry for the loss of your marriage. It sounds like you were very committed and attached to that relationship and letting go is not easy like your ex. It must hurt to see them happy, but there may be things you can start to do.

I find exercise and walking helps my energy level. I try to stop the ruminating on repetitive thoughts about the ex. It just only feeds the negative feelings.

I try to find new interests and new connections. I do not know about the chat you mention but be very careful about sharing personal contact info. There are some bad actors some places.

MSF provides anonymous identities for members to chat in forums with safety. I like this site because it not only gives social connections but also helps people work with challenges they face.

Hope you get the support you are looking for. @CANDC
