Hello,i,m here to tell you that i've never had a relationship with girls or women so far,i suffer from chrinic loneliness and avoidant personality disorder.
It,s sad but this is true,no sexual experiences,no relationships experiences, just loneliness and sadness,i,m the "good guy" for the others and that's all. I'm doing psychanalytical therapy and will join group therapy soon, hope this change a bit my mood and start not fear people. |

I think the things you are doing may prove helpful to you in becoming the person you want to be. We are often shaped by forces not of our own choosing. Often, with help, we are able to intervene in the process and change its outcome. I suspect that the number of people who are in your situation is not small. I can definitely identify with you from my own personal experiences. I will be rooting for you!

I think group therapy is a good idea. I'm socially avoidant, though not as severely as you're describing. Still, it's caused me a lot of pain. I was in a "partial hospitalization program," which I attended for a few months. My peers in the program helped me to connect with them more than I normally did with other people. I learned a lot from them.
Beyond your therapy, I would encourage you to practice doing things that feel uncomfortable. I used to dislike even going into a store to buy something. I pretty much got over that. People are more accepting than I gave them credit for. When I do encounter someone who is not in a good mood, I remind myself that it may have nothing to do with me. |
