Maybe this might sound like it’s not a big deal, but it matters to me. My close friend ignored me yesterday for no apparent reason. What’s worse is that she saw the text I sent her Wishing her a Happy Thanksgiving & she still ignored me!
I don’t think she’s that busy as she obviously had the time to sendme a stupid mene on Insta & then reply to a message asking about an event. I don’t understand that. Why would she ignore me like that? She claimed that I’m like a sister to her but she couldn’t take 5 seconds to wish me a Happy Thanksgiving? This makes zero sense to me. Especially since she normally responds to most texts & messages in a timely manner. Also, another friend who I’ve known for 20 years ignored me too. I didn’t send her a text though. I notmally go for months w/o hearing frim her. I got sick of being the one slways contacting her first. I think she’s doing the slow fade on me. The weird thing is that she still agrees to see me once in awhile when she’s not to busy. I think she maybe just feels sorry for me & is to nice to end things with me completely. |

Some people don’t want to acknowledge thanksgiving for many reasons. For many it’s not a holiday to acknowledge like if it’s your birthday. And many consider it not as a holiday but a painful reminder of what happened to Native Americans. And some people host thanksgiving gatherings, which is lots of work so texting isn’t a priority. So I don’t see it being personal per se.

I asked my friend about this. and she just said that she’s going through a lot now. She had the time to send me a lame joke, but not that. She does celebrate Thanks btw.

She did respond. That’s good enough imho. If she’s going through a lot perhaps it’s not a happy occasion for her even if she’s celebrating it. Offer her support with whatever she’s going through. Be a supportive friend

I did offer her support of course. I found out thst she hasn’t been happy in her marriage.
I told her that she could call me, but she didn’t call or text me. |
