I'm so angry myself I can't stop thinking that I
if I tried harder at highschool. I probably would of been able to go to university years ago and gotten a job instead I've wasted ten years of my life going to Tafe and being kicked out of so many courses. if I wasn't such a lazy person my life would have been better even now I'm a lazy couch potato at home expecting one hour of exercise to compensate for the other ten hours that I spend sitting down. I'm a failure and my mothers anger at me is justified because I'm lazy and the pain I've created is self inflicted. The disappointment and anger I have at myself is hard to run away from ten years of wasted life just for the assholes to say I can't do this course when I did it last term. The way I behave I dislike hate my personality trait of being lazy. It's frankly disgusting and I totally deserve whatever happens to me when mum does.

There is a philosophy called The Next Right Thing. Lots of books and podcasts, even Ella sings a song about it in Frozen. Its a way to live your life in the present, not the past.

Unaluna made a good point. Dwelling on the past isn't productive. It's not always easy, but I try my best not to regret things from the past, since I can't change them anyways.

If I remember correctly, you're in your 20s? You still have plenty of time to get out of the rut you feel you're in, try new paths and reinvent yourself. Hopefully you can access resources that can help you figure out where to go from here.

Yeah i am 71 and still trying to figure out the next right thing. It isnt easy to change a lifetime habit of bad choices, esp when some were forced on you.

I wish I was more responsible I talked to my GP liaison for my appt. She gave me advice on how to be more organised. I just can't help comparing myself to other people and that's what makes it hard there's things I wanted to do with my life that I haven't yet. I just feel sad for all the wasted time

Imagine continuing on this path of regrets and anger at yourself for the next ten years, thereby wasting ten more years of your life. Wouldn't that be a frightening prospect?

Don't regret the past & be angry about it....change the future & be happy about that.

If you do have limitations (issues with learning can look like lazy when there is a real disability causing it) make sure yiu know them & plan your future accordingly & that will open more doors in your life than you could ever imagine

You have two options:

1. Dwell on it and throw in the towel.

or

2. Turn things around and make things happen.

I'd give option #2 a serious look.
