Omg, (trigger warning)

Today I found my husbands gun under the couch when I was looking for my phone. I tend to loose it often.

Anyways, he was gone for a big job for one day last night. He is coming back tonight. He normally leaves his gun in our bedroom underneath the bedstand.

He didn’t tell me about this.. In the past he cocked his gun in front of me which scared me. I told him not to do that & he laughed. He stopped that eventually.

Weird psycho behavior! Was he trying to scare or intimidate me? I think that by setting boundaries, I let him know that I wouldn’t tolerate that crap.

But he still disrespects me. I asked him about the gun today & he laughed & said that it’s good to be prepared.

Some of you know that we have discussed divorce before & that he is financially controlling.

My good friend is going through a similar situation & her husband had threatened to shoot her. I sent her the picture of the gun & erased my history.

She’ll call the cops if I go missing & I’ll do the he same with her too.

Is it weird to how my husband all of a sudden has his gun under the sofa?

We have money issues with the IRS, I have serious health issues now & we have no health insurance, I’m old, fat & kind of ugly now, disabled, his family & friends don’t like me, he lusts after women in their 20’s 30’s mostly aside from movie stars.

Is it possible he’s thinking of murdering me?

A husband who murders his age peer wife because he needs to get rid of her in order to marry a young woman is a typical plot in Agatha Christie's stories. The young woman was typically a secretary or a governess. Times have changed drastically since then and your husband does not need to murder you if he decides to go off with a young woman. Plus, there doesn't even seem to be a particular young woman on his mind: he just lusts after your women in general. He can easily continue doing that with you by his side.

We cannot say what irrational desires he might be harboring, though.

If he planned such a thing, he’d not keep it under sofa or under bedstand. He’d hide it better. These are strange places to keep guns to begin with.

True. He is weird! He kept cocking his gun in front of me after I told him to move it.

I told him to not do it but he was dismissive & he kept doing it telling me to relax $ that he knows what he’s doing, ugh!

You’re right btw. He is weird!

True. He hid it somewhere else now.

That behavior, cocking his gun and being dismissive, is highly objectionable but in no way evidence of intent to murder you.

That was before he hid it somewhere else. It’s somewhere else now. Way out of reach he said.,

Sure is. He refused to stop when I set boundaries. He said, I know what I’m doing, relax, ugh!

I guess I was not clear. I did not say that he is weird. I do not know that. What I meant to say is that he does not have rational reasons to murder you and the reasons you offered, your age and his lusting after young women, would have been a reason in Agatha Christie's times maybe but not now.

Everything else you have said about him also does not demonstrate any rational reason to want to murder you (if one can be rational about that) or any intent or motive. You know how in detective stories, several things need to be in place to suspect someone of murder and one of them is motive? What would be his motive? Why would he want to murder you?

That said, this is all about rational reasons. He might be an irrational man and then who knows. I certainly don't.

I understand that. He wanted to divorce me many times, that is a fact.
