She failed b/c she is a liar. she is disorganized. She just wanted the $150.00 fee I gave her.

Here's how I know she lied. While dog sitting 15 minutes away in another city, I would pop into my apt. between puppy feedings and walks to check on my kittens. She had typed instructions and my contact info and spare keys. Here's what I learned about her "pet sitting skills,"

1. The can with the dried food was popped off and upside down and there was dried cat food all over my kitchen floor 2 of the 4 days.

2. I would notice their ceramic bowls had no residue of food (proof that they hadn't been fed their canned food).

3. She never cleaned their litterboxes (there are 2). I would clean them myself and she would text me, "I just cleaned the litterbox.' With what? Your telepathic sklils? I physically cleaned them both myself.

4. I counted the food wet cans and instructed her to feed them each 2 cans a day. She only fed them each 1 can a day. No wonder they knocked off the canister top to their dry food to raid it and chow down.

I'm livid. I stopped by this morning (where I am now writing this) b/c my "spidey sense" told me too. I knocked on her door (she lives across from me). It was 8 a.m. SHE HADNT EVEN FED THE KITTENS THEIR BREAKFAST YET like she was instructed (6 a.m. breakfast, 6 p.m. dinner). I asked for my spare keys and she was in her robe and said, "Oh, I hadn't fed them breakfast yet."

Never again. NEVER! The neighbors who usually watch my kittens weren't available and this neighbor has a kitten herself, so I ASSUMED she'd be fine, esp. since she lives directly across from me. NOPE.

What the hell is wrong with people?! I'm so livid, you guys. She's in grad school to be a social worker and she's 23 years old. She doesn't work full-time and her semester is on winter break until the last week of January. She HAD the time to feed my kittens and actually clean their litterboxes for me. But she obviously did neither.

I'm not a helicopter kitten mom but for some reason, I was with her as my kitten-sitter b/c I was desparate to find someone while I had to go stay overnight while puppy sitting 15 minutes away.

I want to assume the best about people but I just can't do that. Not anymore. Not after the way she blatantly lied to me, which is disrespectful to me AND my kittens. What if something bad had happened to them under her care? Would she have taken responsibility? I just don't know.

Can anyone relate?! Thanks for reading.

I know, right?! She has her OWN kitten, too! That's a $150.00 lesson that I'll never repeat! I'll tell you that right now! I'd like to attribute her ineptitude to her age but I think her attitude is the issue. She just wanted the money and couldn't be bothered to follow through.

I'm upset that I even paid her. I could have easily driven the 15 minutes each money out of my way to feed the kittens before work on Thursday and Friday since the puppies at at 6 a.m. I just thought it would be too much. In hindsight, I will not pay a neighbor to watch my kitens, unless I go out of town.

Yes, a social worker in training. It actually fits - she texts that she did the task but didn't really do it. Lots of social workers like that. I guess you could apply that attitude to any job, really. But a social worker it seems would not benefit from behaving like that.
