He invited us to talk about our problems (total four people)
He was walking around stiffly saying his parents never loved him
He sat down now and then
He was tying and untying the knot in his track pant’s fastener
The dog had a rope toy which he kept looping around his neck and removing it a total of six times
He tapped the floor to call the dog thrice and every time he said “oh he’s sleeping” and went back to his monologue
He kept saying “I shouldn’t have gone to meditation, I’m a failure my life is mess” then later he said “I think I’m invincible”
He asked what we would do if he died and we had to say his eulogy. He said he wants to live then he said he wants to kill himself.
His eyes were dilated and he kept dozing off and waking up suddenly
Laughing suddenly
Cried
He kept his head on my lap and pulled my hand
And said I need some love
So I caressed his head instead of my left hand around his neck
I also did soft karate chops horizontally and vertically on his forehead since I was stressed
Then later he came and hugged me
And I kept still and froze. He kept his head on my shoulder and arms around me. He said “I needed you And you needed me.” I don’t remember what I said, then he said “I love her and she loves me, as a friend of course. Haha. We’re best friends.” I kept a poker face and maintained calm. This was acceptable since he was not in the right state.
But then he pulled my face towards him and said “look at me look at me” and I scrunched my face to avoid being kissed and tried to pull away my face.
This is when i said “boundaries” and tried to get up and he hugged my back laughing manically
And later he said boundaries? And I said yes and I kept my hand straight out flat to signal stay back.
He also apologised.
Another friend who was in the room with us texted me asking if I felt like leaving, I said no.
Then after laughing a bit more he called up a friend and said I think I’m gonna die Hahahah.
Then we decided we’ll go down to meet the guy he called
Then I texted the friend who was in the room and said we need to drop him home and alert his parents so that he doesn’t hurt himself. We somehow shuttled him home and pretended everything is okay. Then I texted my friend saying “start the ps4 game to distract him and we’ll leave.” I left first saying I have class, the friend left after playing a match, saying he needs to feed the dog.
Later we texted his mom asking her to keep an eye on him and she said thank you
And they’re taking him to a psychiatrist today, I’m so relieved that I could cry!

Thanks for being so supportive for this person in need. I would recommend that you not be alone with this person (take a friend with you) until you have a chance to evaluate how he is doing. I am also glad that he is going to the psychiatrist today. In my experience, sometimes it takes a few days for these episodes to end and the behavior could return at a later time so always be careful and take precautions including listening to your gut.

Update:
He is now stable. Has been hospitalised for four days now. We went to visit him, and we played word games with him to pass time. The next day he did not remember we had come

Mania often comes with what is called partial amnesia. But I am surprised that he is stable already and still forgets things from his short-term memory.
