I can’t say much unfortunately. I’’m a caregiver. Today a client of mine yelled at me because she thought that I was judging her.
She told me to stop judging her & to get out. So I left & called a manager. Unfortunately this manager is also her friend & she made excuses for her & said that since she is mentally disabled that I need to be more careful around her. Wth? I mentioned that whe was being abusive & that upset her & she said that it’s not abuse & that now she might put me with another client. I got along with her fine for the last 3-4 months, so this is ridiculous. I had to clock out early & I lost over $100 in pay today. I’m pissed! She said to come back tomorrow. I came back in & got my stuff. My client said nothing. I got no apology at all. She has had a meltdown before, but we resolved things & she didn’t kick me out or yell at me that one time. Should I say anything to her or not? She has accused me or arguing or not wanting to argue with me when I tried to set boundaries & communicate with her about things in the past. Now I’m afraid to say anything to her as I could accidentally trigger her again. I told her to not yell at me & that I wasn’t judging her. She didn’t say anything after that. We got along fine most if the time. I really need this job. I regret calling the supervisor. Maybe now she’ll be more pissed at me for ‘telling’ on her, idk. What should I do? My husband thinks that I shouldn’t have called my supervisor & that I shouldn’t say anything to my client & pretend that nothing happened. Last edited by jesyka; Yesterday at 12:58 AM.. |

Your client shouldn’t yell, she needs to be taught proper communication but overall her behaviors are due to her being unwell.
You often state that you want people to be understanding and patient with you due to your disability and you being unable to control yourself etc This situation is likely similar, but this time you are probably expected to be patient and understanding of your clients disability. If you are moved to a different client, then I’d not say nothing. But if you are back with her, maybe your supervisor could help to remedy the situation |
