So this summer, I hung out with this girl, Alex, and we're best friends. My other best friend, Kait, came down too and naturally, i introduced them. As time goes on, they get closer, and I feel like I'm losing both of them ... to each other. To make matters worse, Kait came to my school this year. I told them I felt like I was losing them and they told me I was crazy and proceeded to ditch me at a hockey then have a huge sleepover at Alex's house. I don't know what to do because as much as I love them both, Kait's not a good person and she's bringing Alex down. Alex now both smokes and drinks, and thoroughly believes in casual sex. I just don't know what to do.

Have you tried to talk to alex one on one and tell her your concerns about her behavior? When I was your age I don't know what I would have done in this situation, as an adult however I suggest that you try to talk to her and if that don't work then I think you should bring it to the attention of a trusted adult, maybe they can talk to her. I am sorry if I am not being helpful. __________________ Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You, too? Thought I was the only one." C.S. I have lost some bestfriends too. But that was my choice. Our friendship is no longer working out so I chose to move on with new friends. Almost 12 yrs. have passed and I believe I made the right decision. They're happy with their friends and so am I. But before you give up your friendship with them, I agree with the posts above. Try to talk to each of them individually. Do your best to convince them. If they still do what they want to do, consider to move on. They're living their lives, so live yours too. Good luck.
