Hello Everyone
![]() I have made a new friend at college. This person is friendly, down-to-earth, genuine, ... list goes on. And her family is the same way. This type of friendship is all so new to me that I dont know what to do...im in shock. I dont want to mess it up. Tomorrow I have Christmas party to go to at her home and I only know her. There will be around 20 people there. I tend to shy up and become boring (in my mind) when I am surrounded by strangers. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to cope? Zen888 ![]() ![]() |

hi Zen, in the past ive learned that smiling is one signal we can send that we are friendly... this then puts us into a place where we will need to be confident in ourselves if we are approached.. having inner confidence is developed after several interactions with others.. being in a friendly crowd definately makes this work easier... until you have defined your personal boundaries well enough, be careful who you smile at, but its still ok to have a friendly feeling towards others inside
