My sister forgot to call and tell me our aunt died. She was 85 and the last one of our mother’s generation. Her health wasn’t good and we knew it was just a matter time.
My sister’s went to see the aunt at Thanksgiving and I was going to fly out for the funeral. Granted, I could have called to check on things but my sister’s were doing that since they’re closer to that part of the family. Sister apologized and I appreciate that—I know it wasn’t intentional. It dredges up old wounds for me. That's why I feel some anger. Being forgotten, overlooked, discounted, not considered capable, so on and so forth. Old tapes that I don't want to hear or play! Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. notz |
