As of now he's in Afghanistan; he's in the Marines.
I miss him a lot and I really have no other communication with him besides a couple minutes on the phone every now and then and letters & emails. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I could do to show or send to him to let him know that I'm really proud of him, and I'm here waiting for him back home. I've thought of a few things but today he sent me flowers he ordered by phone and it makes me want to do something just as special ![]()

hi and welcome to pc
![]() ![]() ![]() i used to send my son white socks cause there were not always laundry facilites avaliable so he'd just use a pair and then throw them away and go get a new pair. ![]() hope this helps...he is the best person to find out what he doesn't have and that you think he'd enjoy having out of those things. it sure made my son happy when he got his boxes. oh, and we sent him gator aid cause it was loaded with minerals that ward off side effects from the heat and sweating. you can pm me if you'd like if you have questions.

Hi! It's good to see you posting again, I haven't seen you in a while. Make sure to give your bf a hug from me when you do see him. For two reasons....one, all our military people deserve to be hugged and thanked and honored.....and two, there's nothing better to look at than a guy in a Marine uniform (however, at age 40, slightly overweight and graying hair, they don't look back!

Thank you both for your replys, first off.
I was able to call him today and I asked him if there was anything I could send him and of course he got all into the 'no don't send me anything!' spiel. But I managed to cajole him into saying a few things he'd like so I threw together a small package of sugar cookies, razors, and a ton of his favorite books and magazines [courtesy help from his mom ![]() cantstopcrying, I loved your ideas with the letters- I'm totally going to try it out. My letters to him are usually boring because nothing really happens so this will probably help and make it more interesting ![]() ![]()

ne1410s,
I've added the following when I've sent a care package. Beef jerky...no pork, though... unscented "baby" wipes/small pack for quick clean up a black balloon to place on the end of his weapon as it keeps some of the sand out one of those small gun cleaning kits found in Walmart If you go to the IAVA site, there will be more suggestions...IAVA is a veterans group for Iraqi and Afghanistan vets. It works on legislation for vets, but it also has other information. Best wishes Cap
