Hi. My boyfriend and I just broke up two days ago after a series of on and off indecisiveness. I know the break up has nothing to do with me and the sad part is that I know he still loves me. He's being going to a therapist for about 2 months now to deal with his "issues". He called me and asked me to go with him this week to his next sesssion. (His doctor suggested it) I want to go but I am also nervous at the same time. I've never done that before and I'm not quite sure what to expect. If anyone has gone to this before, what happens and does it help the relationship at all? I don't know if this will be an on going thing or if it's just for that one day.

Hey ... i have been in therapy for many years... i have been with my wife for 16 years... we have been thru ups and downs and almost split up a few times... we have three kids to complicate the relationship at times... but what i wanna say to you is that yes i think couples therapy helps... last year she got a great therapist and i went with her a few times to see her the lady was very sensible in her advice and it always helps to have someone who can be objective from the outside to mediate your conversations when you cant really agree on things.... so dont be scared i do understand it but there is really no need if the therapist is any good they will not choose sides but rather try to get each of your points across to the other ... good luck Kel
