Sorry ya'll, I had a long thread here...but I decided it was too personal to leave out there on the internet. It was just about my "transference" issues, and how I explained them to T tonight. Finally. I had been harboring these feelings for over a year and a half, it was hard...but it was time.

Thank you

It kinda went as I expected it would. I mean, I already knew about ethical boundaries and such. I'm glad I got it off my chest, it doesn't really change the way I feel, but at least I don't feel like I'm keeping a secret from the one person I shouldn't keep secrets from. She was gentle with me, as I was sure she would be.

I did the same thing 8 years ago (told my t of my feelings for him), because I didn't want to hide anything; it was major scary. My feelings haven't changed and I know I will always love him. Unfortunately he has feelings for me, also

Yea, that's really hard. Mine won't say either way. She said it creates a fantasy. I asked her what she meant by "fantasy" and she said "well, what would it mean to you if I told you yes?" (to me, that sounds like she's saying she would if it was allowed) I said "It would mean that it still sucks, that we can't ever hang out, but it would also feel nice knowing that the feelings are returned, even a little bit." She just said "Hmmm." and stared at me.

Ugghhh, Life can be so unfair.

Just curious, did you tell T you loved her/him? Or did you say you had feelings for her or something else? Didn't it s*** not to hear it back? I give you a lot of credit but doesn't it feel so bad to put your feelings out there and not have them returned? How did your T respond (if it's not too personal)?

I emailed my T and told her that I have "yearnings" for her that last up to 10 days after i see her. I told her that i was embarassed. She thanked me for telling her and promised me that we need to discuss this further in our next session.
