I'm so incredibly in love with my T. She is so amazing. I only have therapy with her to the end of the year, and I'm dreading the end. I'm gonna miss her like crazy. I just want to be with her. How does one get over this? Its killing me.

Hi

It is more than likely you wouldn't of had the same feelings even if you had met under different circumstances. Transference can feel so intense but those feelings you are projecting onto her, belong to someone else. I went through an awful time when I suffered with erotic transference for ex t. It nearly ruined my life because he handled it so unethically and wrong. You will get over these feelings in time after your sessions have ended I REALLY understand what you are feeling

Have you spoken to her about these feelings?

Thanks for this!

This is an interesting topic for me because like I said earlier my Therapist and I did our Undergraduate studies at the same University, her almost right after me (we may have overlapped for a bit but if we did than I never saw her there in that time), so if I was only a few years younger than her we may have met at the University and became best friends there (you just never know).

In love with my t for 10 years. Feelings still the same. If we had met anywhere else...we would be together (he said), but I knew that.

Yikes. Being in the same age bracket certainly doesn't make it any easier. Nor does the fact that indeed, you could have very easily met under different circumstance. I wish I had more to offer. I am sorry for your anxiety.

It doesn't bother me at all, I actually think that it is an interesting circumstance, a big What If.

It actually makes for some good Therapy discussions since many of the things that were going on when I was there were still going on when she was there and even after I graduated I still went back for a certain things (such as the spring music festival) for a few years afterwords when she was definatley studying there.
