If we're disciplined by a moderator I think we have all rights to ask what we did wrong? How the hell are we supposed to understand otherwise???
But I'm not surprised, I got disciplined for being stalked. Yup, I really could help that. Not. __________________ |

I was just rereading this thread and noticed something and would like clarification on it.
from doc johns post "Remember that discussing administrative actions in a PM is against the Community Guidelines. " This means you ........Can Not............ discuss things with other members...... example..... member A gets a pm from the moderators that they did something that needs to be changed then member A turns around and pms member B....I just got this from a moderator can you believe this crap. I didnt do anything wrong...... then member B responds with yea I didnt see that as wrong either ...bla bla bla... then member B turns around and pms member C hey guess what so and so got punished for their comment in this thread can you believe that Im on member A's side what about you... and soon the boards are in an uproar because member A was placed on moderation or suspended or asked to put someone on ignore. on the other side of things from doc johns post "Remember that discussing administrative actions in a PM is against the Community Guidelines. " ..........Does..........mean when a moderator sends you a pm you can discuss with the moderators the situation by pm ..............with........... the moderators. This way you will know how the moderating team came to their decision. explain your side and understand why they would like you to make the changes that they are asking you to make. am i correct in what I think this phrase means? |

So the rule means you cannot talk about the thing with the moderator themselves. It means you cannot talk to another member about an admin matter.
So, the mods are reading through our PM:s. I think we should be informed that private does not mean private in this case! Jeeze!!! You can't do this without being super clear about it! We talk about really sensitive stuff in PM that aren't meant for ANYONE elses ears!!! __________________ |

And as Jimi asked, why would mods be reading our PMs unless the PM in question has been reported and forwarded? I thought PM meant PRIVATE message. Seesaw __________________ What if I fall? I thought PM meant PRIVATE message? Not public everyone can read it message?
This is only going to feed my paranoia issues if they can read our messages PMs should only be seen by two people in my opinion, the person who sends it (how else would they type it up if they didn't read what they was typing?) and the person getting the PM Please don't read all my PMs, it's bad enough three knowing when I'm saying anything let alone the mods and admins reading all my PMs as well My inbox is not for reading up what I'm chatting about with friends on the forum Please stay out of my inbox |

I'm going to treat this as a misunderstanding until we hear words from admin.
That they do NOT read our PM's. Because otherwise I'll throw up. Stay calm, pplz!!! __________________ |

Private messages are private. No moderator or administrator can read your PMs. The only way we ever see a private message that isn’t ours is if it is forwarded to us and reported by the recipient as against guidelines (e.g., it’s spam, it’s abusive).

Private message
You see at the top right of the screen it says this? Welcome, whispershadow. You last visited: Today at 04:46 PM Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 1070. My Mood: (in your case it says welcome mopey) Where it says private messages up there click on it and it opens them |

Feels good to know. But if only the moderator can see what you said, or all, it does not say. But I assume whether all can see it or not, they are free to discuss it between moderators. __________________ |

So all PMs to moderators or admin go to one giant inbox and they all read the PMs to each other?
I'm scaring myself again, do I need to try relax or am I right that there's a giant inbox it all goes to if it's to a mod? |

I don't think moderators can see your PMs. That's been the case for every forum I've ever been. That's why they always ask users for help when something happened through PMs only

I have a feeling that they go to separate moderators inboxes. Because when I had a question and PM'd them, the same one got back to me.

CAN WE BREATHE NOW?
Whew. I don't know why I catastrophize. I apologize for that. I can sometimes just snap into this mood where EEP it's all wrong it will never be right!!! I need to work on that. __________________ |
