My husband has not been well for about a month now. We have been to the doctor and the ER, but just yesterday the source of the problem was identified. It is his heart that is not functioning correctly. I'm pretty brave most of the time, but I am sitting here with tears in my eyes.

Hi Bee and Friends,
Husband's primary care physician sent him to a cardiologist today, who recommended he check into the hospital for tests. I feel so relieved. Of course the hospital is 60 miles from here, but I know he is receiving good care there. Husband just called, and said he thinks he may be able to come home tomorrow. Thank you for caring and your encouraging words. EJ

Friends,
Husband is home tonight, but doctor wants him to have open heart surgery. He is going for a pre-op procedure on Tuesday, which will provide the surgeon more info for the actual surgery, which has not yet been scheduled. Our dogs and cats are so happy to see him -- me too!  EJ

I'm glad they were able to find the source of his problem. They've come a long way with heart surgery. Your husband will continue to be in my prayers.

So sorry to hear your husband needs open heart surgery. I'll pray for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. Make sure you take good care of yourself so you can take care of him when he comes home.

Update:
Friends, Husband has at least three major coronary issues, and needs open-heart surgery. The big problem right now is getting husband scheduled for surgery. His condition has really deteriorated just since last week. I am hoping they can get him in on Friday, but it may not be until Monday. Husband doesn't want to stay in the hospital. I think if I bring him home he is going to die. We are way out in the middle of nowhere. So far the medical professionals agree he needs to stay in the hospital, and have managed to keep him there. He is showing signs of confusion and had a hallucination last night. Meanwhile, I am exhausted from driving 70 miles each way to see him. He wouldn't let me get a pet setter on Tuesday when this week's marathon began. We have three St. Bernards, one Great Dane, two smaller dogs, plus seven cats and two horses. So I can't hire just anybody, and only know of one person who pet sits, who is 16. I need as many prayers as possible. Thanks ~ EJ I have to be back here on Saturday to close out the class I have been teaching, so they will send me my check next week. I may just stay here tomorrow |

Sometimes near hospitals there are inexpensive places to stay for loved ones of patients. Keep us posted when he's schedualed for the surgery. You're in our prayers.

Hi EJ,
Will add my prayers for your husband and for you. God knows you both and cares more than you know. Will pray for help, healing, wisdom, strength for you both and for comfort in the difficulties of it all. Will also pray he stays put in the hospital where he can be kept safer. Hi Lynn P,
Well they decided to let my husband come home today. They finally scheduled his surgery for Monday. No family near by, and my budget is real tight right now. I probably can stay with some friends, but have not as yet found anyone who can take care of our dogs, cats and horses. Thank you for your kind words and prayers, EJ

Thank you for your prayers and sensitive and insightful note. God is faithful. I felt yesterday when I was driving home from the hospital that God was going to allow my husband to pull through his surgery, and I would have more time to enjoy with him. EJ

Phoenix7 and Everyone Who Has Prayed,
A pet sitter who will care for my large menagerie for free surfaced today. Contacted my women's circle (small group) at my former church, and one of the ladies invited me to stay with her. She has a finished basement bedroom with a private bath. Husband's insurance company called to inquire about any services he will need when he gets home. I feel very blessed. Thank you everyone! EJ

Hi Bee,
I have plenty to do between now and Monday. * wash clothes to pack for my stay 30 mins. from hospital (vs. 1-1/2 hrs. away) * clean up house as much as possible * grade students work, and submit grades, so I can get paid next week. * write up instructions for pet sitter. She already visited today for a run- through and introduction to our six dogs. EJ
