First off, sorry if this post is against guidlines, not too sure of what's allowed and what's not allowed in this forum yet but I'm struggling with something atm.

If there is such a thing as a God, or a higher power/entity...why does he let bad things happen to babies and children? I don't understand that and am struggling with it particular atm coz of a baby I know who has cancer and don't look like making it. He's a baby, he never hurt no-one.

Again, apologies in advance if this is a disallowed post.

i will pray for your friends child and know that he is accepted and loved in Gods' Spirit always...

God is a positive energy force... we channel the energy to overcome difficult times that come into our lives... when we are at a loss or suffering we can use Gods' positive energy to find will and strength to carry on in our own lives in a positive way even though we are vulnerable to physical illnesses and catastrophes'... disease and misfortune are a part of the physical realm and the human body is a physical form susceptible to disease and misfortune... Gods' love helps us to heal from suffering that is a physical reality of this existence... suffering is only one part of physical reality..

God and spirit are supernatural forces separate from physical laws... when we are in physical form we are susceptible to the laws of physics... in our spirit form we are free from physical suffering
Thanks for this!

I know how heartbreaking such things can be.
One of my reponses when I hear of something "bad" happening to someone who follows God, or such as an innocent baby... is that we have sickness due to the original sin in the garden. I believe when a baby, or saint is taken home that just means that their time on earth is done, their mission is fulfilled. It's so much better to be with God in heaven, imo, than suffering here on earth.

Thank You, nowheretorun. If it wouldn't be too much to ask could you please keep the baby's Mom in prayers too? She's having a rough time with this. Thanks.

((Sky)) ...this little one has inspired so many folks with his strength and fighting spirit, has made so many folks realize how precious life really is. If that is his one lasting legacy, then that is good.

Thank You for this post, Sky, it has lifted my heart a bit.
Thanks for this!

Lost....

I'm sorry to hear about the little one!! I will say prayers for him!!

You did not do anything wrong (IMO) posting this here.

I have struggled with this question myself. My belief is that although the God may be all knowing and all seeing, it also realizes that there is a nature and a science to life. It is sad to think that Cancer, a virus, has a place in this world, but it does. (again, IMO) It is part of nature and it exists for a reason. Not to infect little children or old people or any people, but that's just what it does. That is part of a virus' life cycle...it infects and it doesn't care whom or what it infects as long as it can thrive.

Illness is not pretty, or nice. It is a part of life, like death. A thought like this is chilling when you think of a young child with Cancer. It is a true lesson to be learned by all as we see this young ones zest for life regardless of his illness. I hope he fights, and I hope he wins that fight. He may not, but his little life will not have been in vain for he has been able to touch so many and teach them about love, and life.

I hope this doesn't make you angry. It's all my opinion and perspective. I really do wish this little one well!!

Elysium, dear one, how could this post possibly make me angry? Thank You for seeing that his life is not in vain, for the ones he has touched (and continues to touch) if nothing else!

Much Peace and Love to you, friend!

So sorry to hear about the baby. I belive that God does things for a reason. We may not understand them but He does. I think He does these things so that we, as humans, learn from it. We learn to appreciate little things to love everything. It is a really sad situation but there is a lesson in it. Like you said responding to Sky, people are already inspired by the little guy. He may also be showing them the good in themselves.

Thank You for this, thunderbear. I don't understand atm, not with this one, but...he is a precious little being and, yes, folks are learning from him, weird as it may sound. That is something his Mom can always be proud of!

Peace and Hugs to you,

I agree with Thunderbear - I'm very sorry about your friends baby too. My Dad passed away from cancer when I was 2 leaving 5 children for my mother to raise.
No matter what, we're all going to die although dieing at a young at a young age is hard to handle. I don't think God punishes us through death and unfortunatley bad things do happen to nice and innocent people. I think God takes people who are done their work on this earth, even if we're NOT ready. I also think we can learn from these experiences even though they're horrible - sometimes it reveals the depth of our strength in ourselves and others around us. Death isn't a punishment by God, it just seems like that for the loved ones who are left behind. I hope this helps and that he survives the cancer.

Thanks. That isn't very likely now short of a miracle but who knows? I'm just trying, like everyone else, to be strong for his Mom. And to remember that he is an inspiration to us all. Maybe that was his job? idk. Deep down, though I'm struggling with this, I know God doesn't hate him in particular. How could he? He's just a child. Thanks for replying, all points of view here are helpful atm.

cancer is one of the hardest things to understand Lost. In fact i am not sure there is a understanding of it. i found this . I know it does not help thou.((The world's oldest documented case of cancer hails from ancient Egypt, in 1500 b.c.)))
I have had many friends who have lost thier children to cancer and have known many who have lost loved ones to it. I too have...
With alot of ppl thats the first question they ask is why...I wish i had the answer I do not.
I know in my heart that god crys with each person who gets it. To have a child get it ..well its so hard... so i have no real answer for you . Just know god is with this child and the mother always. My prayers are with them. I will pray for remission for the baby......and i will pray for a cure for all cancers.
My prayers are sent.
Thanks for this!
