My Father-in-Law passed away on Tuesday and was buried Friday. He is at the same cemetary where we laid my Mom to rest the day after Christmas coming on 3 years ago.

It's been a rough week and I could really use some prayers.

Thanks,
Susan

I'm so sorry, Susan. My prayers are with you.

I know how you feel. I just put my hubby on a plane to England. His mother died last Monday. The cremation and memorial is Tuesday, December 22. It makes the holiday so difficult.

Vickie, You and your husband are in my prayers...It's so hard to lose a beloved parent.

I have tried my best to comfort my husband and my Mother in law...but..it was so hard to go to that same cemetary where we buried my Mom.....

Even through the pain....I know that I am blessed to be able to both give and receive comfort from my husband..I am sorry that you and your husband have to be separated through this...I couldn't imagine....

Much love and understanding to you Vickie as we walk through this...I thank you for your kind words and mostly for your understanding!!

(((Susan))) I can really relate to what you're saying. From 2003 - 2007 we lost an immediate family member every year at this time, my father in 2003, MIL 2004, Grandmother 2005, Uncle and 2 cousins 2006, and Nephew 2007. It got to the point that we no longer decorate or celebrate Christmas like we used to, we just waited for the phone call to see who it would be this year. With the exceptions of our Uncle and Grandmother (both had cancer) all of these deaths came as a complete shock. Freak accidents and heart attacks.

As I post this I'm afraid to say it out loud because Christmas has not come yet, but (so far) this is the second year in a row we've had without a death during the Holidays. I'm not normally superstitious. I spoke to my husband about it and said next year we have a traditional holiday.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I hope things get better for you soon. I lost my grandma this week too, Christmas will not be the same without her. I try to take comfort that she led a very good life and all things have a time to begin as well as end.

I am sorry for your loss. We buried my stepdad on Christmas eve awhile back.

((((((((((((Susan))))))))))) It is a tough time of the year purely physically speaking for the elderly and the ill (not to mention the homeless, the impovershed, the refugee). It's so easy to forget that in the shadow of the biggest holiday of the year stands the shadow of real winter. I'm so sorry for your loss and your husband's. Huggs and prayers for comfort and healing.
Thanks for this!
