Just wanting to request some good thoughts, best wishes and prayers for myself. I feel kind of selfish asking for this because I'm just not to good at asking for support for myself.

I have a job interview tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon!! I'm excited about the position and I'm not so much nervous about the interview itself...I'm nervous that I won't get it.

I haven't had a stable Full-Time job since last February. I've been living off of unemployment and temp work since then...and I don't know how much longer I can keep myself afloat. If I don't get this job...I don't know what I'm gonna do.

I'm so behind on bills and I really want to get them taken care of...but I can't fork over money to them when I am not sure if I am going to be working or having enough money for rent.

It's a sucky situation...and I really need stable full-time work so I can keep a roof over my head and pay my bills....and also to get some health insurance.

I'm so scared right now. I just really need this to come through. So anybody who reads this...can you please send me some positive mojo for tomorrow?

Thank you all, and take care!!

Well...the interview went well. They are currently overstaffed but they are opening a new hospital in November so they have permission to hire about 24 new nurses in advance to get them trained.

I was not offered a position yet...they have to do background checks and reference checks. They said that if I don't hear within a couple weeks that they will send a letter stating I didn't get hired...but they also said that this does not mean I won't get a position because they can't hire everyone at once or it will overload their current staff as far as training goes. So they will keep my application and every 60 days will call to have me come back in if I'm still interested.

So......It's a hurry up and wait thing. I felt real good about the interview. It went well and although I was nervous I think I connected well with the people that were interviewing me. It would really be nice to get in sooner than later so I'm hoping I get a call. And it's a position with the State too so I would be a State employee. That is a good thing...I think.

Thanks for everyone's support...It means a lot to me!! I'll keep you all posted.

Good to hear! I would not personally wait those weeks, but call back all excitedly (well, you know) eager about the job...prior to any time limit for a negative letter. This lets them know you are really interested in this position. If you can study up on the progress of that new facility etc, and share some of that with the person who interviewed you, that would also show that you are going the extra mile for "them." No, I wouldn't wait all that time, and surely not the 6 months etc.
Generally with a new facility there are all types of job openings. Take anything you can get, then once on the inside you can prove yourself and find "in house" recommendations and references.

That's a good point that Sky made about following up with a phone call and making it clear you'll take any other opening in your field. Their office will be flooded with resumes, so you want to check in once in a while(not stalker style LOL) to make sure they know you're ready to work. I hope you get the position - it would be great being a state employee with all the benefits.

You guys read my mind!!

I got a thank you card today for the team that interviewed me. I am sending it out tomorrow and I'm going to plug in some info that shows I am aware of their facility and am taking the initiative to learn more.

I definitely won't wait the six months. I will most likely check in with a note or phone call once or twice a month to keep my name in their memories.

I'm excited...and eager....and I hate waiting...

I just need/want to get back to work.

Good for you Elysium - you sound like you're on top of things. Employers want people who are eager to work. This sounds like an ideal position. I pray it works out for you. Please let me know, if you do finally get it.
