Please pray for my body. For a few weeks now I have been having problems with my feet swelling despite being on two different fluid pills. I put it down to my gout acting up. To me I had more important things to worry about : the Mississippi River rising and we live less 20 miles from it, my husband having treatments for a spider bite, my grandmother being out of harm's way in case of flooding where she lives (it flooded there a little over a year ago), etc. I just put myself on the back burner. A couple weeks ago I noticed I was starting to have trouble walking some days. Again, I put it down to the gout and got a walking cane. Tuesday night, I was laying in the bed crying because the pain was so bad in my right foot. My husband told me that I really needed to go to the doctor. I made a deal with him. I told him that I had just taken some medication and a fluid pill and if it didn't ease up by morning, I would go to the doctor. Actually, I was just trying to buy time. About three o'clock Wednesday morning, I was rummaging in my medicine box looking for something else for pain. My husband got up and went to the back door to smoke a cigarette. He came back in the bedroom and looked at me and my foot which had taken on a shade of purple below my big toe. I told him "I give". He took me to the ER where a very kind nurse gave me a shot for pain while I was waiting to see the doctor. I have a bacterial infection and cellulitis in my foot and if I had waited any longer, I would had to go in the hospital on IV antibiotics.
The only thing I can wear on my foot is a sock and my family is having to help me with things.

Not only pray for my body but also for my stubbornness.

Thanks.

faylowell,

I will return your kind offer to pray for me, and I am sending up one for you as well... I am glad that it had not reached that critical stage yet and hope you feel better soon. I will also pray that you can listen to your body a little closer from now on and not ignore it when it tells you something is wrong.
