My 13 yr old has been having an occasional problem with a heavy, slightly droopy eyelid. I figured it was no big deal. I took her for a check up at the pediatrician yesterday and surprisingly to me, he thought there's a small chance it could be Myasthenia Gravis. I heard this term before and knew it was bad news but didn't know much about it. I've been researching online for hours. She has a eye doctor appointment next Tuesday, so we'll get more info from that.

If you could please say a prayer for her. I'm praying it's not Myasthenia Gravis and just a simple tired eyelid. I always say it's not productive to worry prematurely, but that's easier said than done when it's my own child. Thank you.

Prayers For Daughter

Wow I'm so impressed / thankfull for all your prayers and support. Thank you ((bebop)), ((sanada)), ((Yoda)), ((Thimble)), ((SunnyD)), ((rapidcycla)), ((Fuzzybear)), and ((Beholden)).

SunnyD - my daughter is fine ATM and thank you for asking. The heavy eyelid happened 4-5 times the last 6 months - then the next day it's fine. According to my research, it does come and go at first. There's several diagnotic tests but the eye exam is the first test. She told me 2 months ago that her eyes felt strange for a few seconds during class but I didn't think it was anything to worry about since she's normally healthy. She said she had double vision for a few seconds. I hope it ends up being nothing significant. A person can also have Myasthenia Gravis where it affects just the body and not the eyes.
