My mom has cancer again. She had some dribbling (incontinence) issues and had gone to the doctor and he said oh no biggie if it continues on I will send you to the urologist. Well one morning a few weeks ago she woke up to gushing blood and got an emergency appointment and they said she needed an ultrasound. So she had that done and they found what they thought was a cancerous growth on her uterus. So they sent her to the gyno and as soon as she started to poke and prod if started to bleed a lot. So she sent Mom to the ER. They called in this big oncologist who next Wednesday will be doing a hysterectomy and hopefully will be out Christmas Eve. They are going to do it robotically and the uterus and cervix will come out down below instead of a big incision. That is if they are able to do it by robot. He said that they might not get to with her weight problem but is pretty sure it won't be a problem.

So pray for her on Wednesday and the rest of the family.

Thanks!!

Jan

I will say a prayer for your Mother and Family...and for you too jbug.

I am sorry this is happening to your mother. I have massive faith in modern medics.

My mother was taken by cervical cancer in 1977 (i was 7).

As an adult I have though in the last 8 years seen 'miricals' performed by modern medics and prayer.
An ex lover who was 28 at the time fell with cancer, she came through OK, another friend who's father had bone marrow cancer and it was bad - he came through. A lady I know personally and her family, they are good friends - when the mother was dx'd, the family was in pieces, all I could do was say I will do what I can - Pray; and talk about 21st century medics. They all came through.

I hope this helped in any way.
Please take good care.

Here is the update on my mom.

She had her surgery today and they think they were able to get all her cancer. The only problem now is every time she goes to sleep her oxygen level drops so she has been put on oxygen through her CPAP machine. When I talked to Dad it sounded like she was scared to go to sleep so he was going to spend the night with her.

Originally the plan was for her to go home tomorrow but it looks like she might have to stay a bit longer until she can keep her oxygen level up.

So keep the prayers a comin'.

Well the prayers worked WOOHOO!! She got to go home yesterday and is happy and seems to be doing well. I was out at their house today working on my project that needed to be done by Christmas and saw her briefly. What I did see of her she seemed in good spirits and at lunch I asked her how she was feeling and she said she wasn't in too much pain so that is good. When I left I went upstairs to tell her goodbye but she was napping and was breathing deeply and that made me happy that she was able to get the deep breaths in because that was the problem she was having when her oxygen level would drop she wasn't able to breath deeply.

So thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.
