It's just been a very big issue for me. I saw that there's supposed to be no religious talk here but I just have some questions I would like to know more about in terms of religious beliefs. ((Maybe through messages or something like that? I don't know)).

There are social groups here for those interested in Christianity. I would like to have a social group for those interested in Buddhism.

I'm not sure I want to be a member of a group like that, I just want to know how some people cope with their beliefs and can freely believe in him.

You are welcome to PM me if you have questions. All I can do is share my experience, but I'd be happy to talk.

There is no way to know who should reply without any idea what the questions are - even just a general category. I'll just say that for several years I had questions and I studied extensively to try to find answers - so I can talk a little bit about searching.

I'm new to this site but you're welcome to message me. I'm Christian, have a BA in Theology and am getting a Masters in Theology (Ethics) right now. My area of focus is relationships, love of self, and God's love for us. I seem to do great in articulating such things for others, it's accepting it for myself that I struggle with at times -- go figure =P Feel free to PM me. I've taught religious ed. classes, been a guest speaker for retreats, and youth minister. I'm more than happy to hear questions. People ought to question more really, that's how we grow.

We do have a social group, with a forum, for talking about religion and related questions. You can come and go as you please. The link is in my signature. I set up the group because I think that people need to be able to ask their questions and talk about it with others. Spirituality is important to mental health and well-being, and there is healing to be found. I don't think that you can see the forum unless you join it, and I do moderate who can be on the forum so that I can make sure that everyone there is supportive of others. If you go to the social group and ask to join, I'll approve you. It is for everyone who wants to be there, as long as you are supportive - all faiths are welcome.

Sorry. I haven't been checking on this page very often. I don't consider myself a member of any religion, though I was raised Christian. The problems I have are that I just feel incapable of believing in anything and wanted to understand more about how others could be so faithful when I just feel empty and alone.
For a little bit of background information, I was locked up when I was little and forced to undergo exorcisms and told that I was possessed. Since then, I just haven't felt much of anything to do with any form of higher power, I don't have faith in anything and that makes me feel alone in the grand scheme of things I guess. I am very much into quantum physics, astronomy, and the Universe and have lived my life by logic alone rather than being dictated by emotions but that just doesn't feel like enough. |

I follow my own spiritual path, but you know what.. I also use quantum physics, and other sciences to guide me on my path. Science and spirituality can actually blend quite nicely. Spirituality doesn't exactly equal belief in higher power. I don't think there is really any reason why one can't use science, logic and emotion together.
Sounds like I have a similar upbringing to you. You can PM me anytime if you want to talk about, I am very open about spirituality.. and I am open to ideas too. __________________ Ad Infinitum This living, this living, this living..was always a project of mine Last edited by Anika.; Nov 13, 2012 at 07:00 AM.. |

I must admit I am in defensive mode right now regarding my own religion ( WTS JW) if you know what any of that means. How we are treated within a spiritual community does have an impact on our emotional, mental well being even just the dynamics create lasting perceptions for good and bad. Please do research read investigate, make a very very "critical examination" of your beliefs find out if they are based on honest truthful premise. Those answers I have found are both devastating and liberating...painful.

Hi Freeda,
What do you mean by "you are in defensive mode about your religion?" |

There are 2 other social groups that are for Christians to discuss and study: At Jesus' Feet and SOUL FOOD. Check them out if you need more support.
