My friend's 2 year old son fell in the pond on their property about a week ago and initially drowned. They were able to resuscitate him at the hospital, but he is still in critical condition, and the latest update is, it's not looking good. He is back on the ventilator after they briefly took him off of it yesterday. Today the doctors are saying there isn't enough change to keep him in the hospital (it's an insurance thing), and they're saying there's not enough brain activity and that it really doesn't look good. The doctors are going to try and take him off the ventilator again tomorrow or Wednesday to see how he does, please, if you can, send a prayer that it goes well. We are a tightknit German community here in town, and it's incredibly painful to watch one of us go through something so terrible. Any and all prayers and/or good thoughts are greatly appreciated. Little Connor needs it. Thanks!

His EEG didn't show any changes.
Dorit, Connor's mom, said that he's having a good day today though. Her and her husband have also decided to give away all their ducks and geese and close the pond.

Keep the prayers coming, it seems to be working! There have been very small improvements. For one, Connor is off the breathing machine and breathing on his own!! The other thing is, he had a permanent feeding tube inserted and he is tolerating the tube and little feedings through it well. And the most exciting thing, when Dorit, his mom, was there this morning, he moaned twice! She said that counts as vocalization and is a huge step forward. Dorit is at the hospital during the nights, and her husband Matt stays during the days. She has to make sure their other kids are taken care of too.
Arrangements are being made now to transfer Connor to the Children's Hospital in Denver, which is one of the best in the Nation. The doctor there told Dorit they have all kinds of different treatments they can try. Oh, and Connor was also wheeled around the ward in a buggy yesterday, to try and stimulate his brain. It was such a cute picture of him in that buggy! Anyway, keep them coming, there is hope!

connor is going downhill rapidly. it's not looking good.
he also has an abscess on his brain now. they're doing surgery this morning to biopsy it. it's been 28 days now, up and down, and it is incredibly hard on his mom and dad and everyone else involved. they still haven't transferred him to Denver, he is not stable enough right now.
