just wondering if anyone here believes in Tarot readings, and actually bare in mind what they have to say

usually i'd say no, but recently i had this email reading from this lady called veronica... and oh my god it was so acurate!

the first part for example, she said i was a lonely child, no one loved me in my life, i have nothing to live for... all that from never speaking to me before

what do you guys think?

do you believe in them or are they just a waste of time to you

Tarot Cards are like Psychological Flash Cards. They are useful in helping find things to consider that you may not other wise think of. The deck covers alot of daily life situations.
Thanks for this!

I like Thunder Bow's description. In some ways they're used like the I Ching.

It is something I have meant to learn, along with runes and astrology. There are a lot of decks out there and you can probably find one you really enjoy if you feel like learning. The biggest advantage isn't so much predicting the future as that it strengthens your intuition and helps you to learn to rely on it more easily.

The cards themselfs are just so much useless paper and ink. It is what goes on between the ears that makes them work!

I've used them before in a similar way to what Thunder Bow says. They can be really good for reflection. Tarot card readings can often seem "correct" because of what we read into them, how we apply the "meanings" of each card to our lives.

I don't believe in Tarot cards. "Psychics" always give you readings that are "accurate" and go, "Oh, my god!" We want to believe, so we weave the words into what we want them to be. Most people would say they're lonely, at least some of the time.

I've talked about psychics and fortunetellers and all that before, it's all a mind game. I'm not saying they can't be real, but I used to believe in all that jazz, and then I learned the tricks by people who debunk this kind of stuff. "The Amazing Randi" is one of the best. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Randi

Not even "just" a waste of time for me... they put me on a dark side I have no reason to be in!

I use them as a guide. I find I get more accurate readings when I do them myself though. The energy I put into them I take out. I believe they can be a way of reflection and channeling what you need to see at the time. All but one reading I have done for myself made complete sense and was something I needed to hear or process at the time. Whether it's me reading into them, or me channeling something, I just know it works for me... I think everyone has their spiritual guides, be it religion, tarot cards, science, or something else... I think most humans crave a belief in something greater than the sum of all these parts.

There was a time when I used to get tarot readings very frequently and I just got so obsessed that I got a little emotionally unstable. I decided to quit using the tarot for about a year and things went fine again. I realized sometimes it's better not to know what may be or not in the future, because that's what most of us want to know. But when things are going bad or when I can't figure out what's happening, I use this online tarot reading app to have an alternate picture of what might be going on. So... I guess yarot cars can help you understand yourself, your deepest feelings, your doubts or some things you don't want to or can't see. But the trick is to learn the story behind the cards, because interpretations are not always accurate, thus they come from the reader and not from the querent. It's worse when you try an automated reading. So I found this site where they tell the story and explain the possible meanings of the cards. It's aeclectic.comm, if you want to know a bit more about tarot cards. I must say, I believe it's a beautiful story!

I have found some people who read accurately. Others who do not. The cards are simply the vehicle for the reader. If the person reading is gifted and positive then it can be helpful.
