Please pray for us. My ex-husband fell off a ladder and sustained a brain injury. He had emergency surgery that day (Saturday). We were married 16 years.

We have a 10 year old daughter who loves her Daddy, and is a terrified wreck. I havent let her see him, he looks terrible, shaved bald, swollen and bruised, breathing tube and all.

Tragedy. The docs wont say anything about prognosis. He might die, he might live, he might have so much brain damage he will be in a nursing home the rest of his life.

Thank you so much for all your kindness. He passed away this morning. My daughter is beyond upset, obviously, and there is so much sorrow.

But things happen for the best sometimes. He may have been in a coma for years to come, or brain dead.

Oh, sweetie, I am so sorry!! I was about to pray for him as I scrolled through your post and it took my breath away to read he'd passed away this morning. I grieve with you and your daughter, I can't imagine what it's like to lose her beloved Dad at the tender age of ten.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the time You'd given this man on this earth. Thank you for taking him Home in Your perfect timing and wisdom and sparing him further pain and suffering. Please give BadGirlBlues, their daughter and all who'd loved him strength and comfort as they grieve this loss. We pray this in Jesus' Holy Name, Amen.

Thank you so much, it means a lot, i have fallen away from the church myself. I am going to say a rosary myself, it is so comforting, its like meditation

My heart just ached as I read this thread ~ I feel for you and your daughter. The loss must be very difficult...I can only imagine.

As a TBI survivor myself, I can assure you that my entire life changed rather dramatically after my accident. Slipping on the ice in March 2007 and falling upon my head. I had gone through brain surgery for epilepsy one year prior, so I thankfully had extra space in my brain for the intracraneal bleeding that occurred with my TBI.

Thank you all so much, it is truly meaningful to have so many heartfelt gestures of support and kindness.

My daughter is really hurting, my parents are staying with us for awhile, and they are arranging for her to begin grief counseling. Thankfully they are here to do it! Im trying hard to start taking care of things myself.
