Wow, I love your acronym ... Sow Good Seed! What a message for all of us, all of the time! Did you think this up? ...so very clever. I was wondering if I could use it in one of my other web groups. I don't want to post it without your permission. If not, I truly understand.

Blessings!

This was from a book/television movie/series. http://www.dinotopia.com/

The Code of Dinotopia is a set of rules that the people (and dinosaurs) live by in a utopian society on an island cut off from communication with the rest of the world. People and dinosaurs and animals all get along, for the most part, and live in harmony with each other and with the planet.

Survival of all or none.
One raindrop raises the sea.
Weapons are enemies, even to their owners.

Give more, take less.
Others first, self last.
Observe, listen and learn.
Do one thing at a time.

Sing every day.
Exercise imagination.
Eat to live, don't live to eat.
Don't put out the light.

Code of Dinotopia

Sorry, I didn't read this message before posting my first thread. I mentioned religion. I guess it will be weeded out in the screening process. My sincerest apologies. It is very interesting looking at the difference between religion and spirituality. I never really thought about it before...

Seeing this kind of forum being a part of PC makes me feel secure. I know without having a spiritual aspect that is very important part of my life...I would have not made it through a lot of the situations throughout my journeys. Thank you!!!

So to be crystal clear -- No talk of religions is allowed here, sorry.

DocJohn

PS -- What is spirituality as opposed to religion?

Spirituality is:

1: of, relating to, consisting of, or affecting the spirit : incorporeal
2: of or relating to sacred matters

Religion, on the other hand, is a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices.

So this forum's main focus is to talk about spirituality, not specific religions.
Thanks...this will be a great place visit for I enjoy spiritual conversations.

Hi, everyone...lovely to see a spiritual forum here.
My aunt was ("was" as in, she's left her body behind and is a beautiful spirit now) and is the personification of love to me.
One thing she always told me was: "Honey, the place you seek, seeks you."
I can dive deeply into that for hours and find it so comforting...like being wrapped around in hand-made quilt warmth. I hope it helps you. Juleeo

Seeker, I hear you; we can be thrown, 'rejected,' and just from my own perception, I know how that feels. But isn't it a relief that no matter how we waver, the truth is always there? A sturdy riverbed...a quiet, peaceful place.. for me, even when I don't feel that riverbed beneath me because the positive emotions have flown the coop, I know (head knowledge, but I know) that if I just take a step forward, I'll feel that riverbed beneath me, holding me up. Seeker, I just replied to your post a few minutes ago; now I want to ask, is "your artrox" your art? If so, your artrox rocks! It's beautiful. It looks rather like a kind of sculpture, but -- is it a painting? How large is it in reality? Do you do this (if it is yours) for a living, or as a hobby? At any rate, thank you much for sharing it; it's gorgeous. Juleeo

Can you do a separate prayer request area. It's overtaking spiritual discussions.

I'm new here and I'm very pleased to find this particular forum. I may not be able to attend the spirituality chat today owing to previous commitments, but I would enjoy an opportunity to discuss this subject at a future chat.

For many years now I have been fascinated with the subject of human consciousness and its relationship to the soul, or spirit. Particularly what philosopher David Chalmers calls The Hard Problem of consciousness, which is why it should have evolved in human beings in the first place. There doesn't seem to be any particular reason why we have a particular experience, for example, of the blueness of the color blue. We would do just as well to learn that seeing something of that light wavelength was called "blue," and not experience any feeling of "blueness" about it.

This is very difficult to explain, and thus why I'd love to discuss it!

Namaste,
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth sorry you did not get any prompt replies. If you are still interested in discussing matters of consciousness, let me know with a Personal Message if possible.

Hi Ellie17,

Welcome to Psych Central!

It's okay to mention God here, yes. We cannot discuss specific religious icons/figures nor specific writings from any religion. If you have further questions regarding this forum, please feel free to send me a pm and I'll be happy to answer them for you.

Thank you for this safe place to chat about spiritual matters as we are all triune beings, with a mind body and spirit. To be wholesome one will need to try and incorporate some kind of food to feed the spirit. It could be as simple as sitting quiet.
I will be sure to visit this chat often.
Blessings to all
