Do you believe that there is a heaven and/or after life?

no, but I respect others who DO believe that.

My mom died when I was 15, and I've had a few other losses since then. I know that especially after she died, the thought of heaven and/or an afterlife was of great comfort to me. It's hard to just let go and think "well, that's that". And even though I don't believe in an afterlife of any kind now, I still have these very powerful dreams where my mom comes back from some type of afterlife and visits me. The dreams feel so realistic that it gives me pause for at least a day or so after each.

LMo Do you believe...

I am on the fence about heaven and/or the afterlife....I guess I'll have to wait and see until my time comes.

I lost my mom in my early twenties...and it's easier for me to think of her in a place that she would enjoy....then thinking of her as just dead and gone. Do you believe...

I most definitely believe!! I have had proof. When I was with my aunt as she was dying....just at the point where she was going....my Mom who had been gone for many years came into the room!! The only way I can describe it in human terms was it felt like liquid unconditional Love was being poured from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet...and just as it left my feet I heard a Whoosh...and my Mom was gone.....and my aunt breathed her last breath. There was so much more to it....it was such a profoundly beautiful spiritual experience. No one could ever convince me that there is not a beautiful afterlife!!

I'll answer that question by posing some others; Why do you think you came to this side of the forum to ask? Did you think you needed support for something you may have felt anyway? Do you need others who obviously believe in the hereafter to convince you that there may be something more than just drying up and blowing away like some Winter leaf? What do YOU think? How do you relate to that "personal being" inside you that is you. When you look at yourself in the mirror...what do you see? Do you recognize how unique and individual you are....like a snowflake? No-one else is like you? Why do you stare out at you and not someone else?
Ask yourself these questions. Know that you "are". From that point....ask yourself if you could possibly exist beyond this finite rock...into infinity. If you "are"...you have a soul that goes beyond the bounderies of this set plane.
Know this. Study this...in your "momentary blink" in this reality. Realize there is more.............
I already know what is true to me. What do you feel.

Strictly from a secular point of view, I KNOW there is an afterlife because I've been contacted by spirits of my family and friends who have gone on before me. I've SEEN a couple of them.

To know there is a Heaven and a Hell is based on Faith alone.

If you believe in GOD and TRUST that the BIBLE is His direct word - left for us to read & to understand....... then YES, there is a heaven and a h*ll, known as the After Life.

And yet I can understand why some may doubt, for even Gods children doubt at times.... for we are all but only human.

Yes I believe...I believe that there is a place where there are many mansions for us to live....There is a crystal lake and streets of gold...There is a kingdom where love reigns.....I have dreamt about this place...where I am an adult but seen with the heart of a child...I am wearing a gown of white linen, and I skip through the throne of God...skipping through his courts of praise...He is upon a throne and I lay my head upon his knee..and he puts his strong. rather large, and stable hand upon my head..for me, heaven is real, the eternal resting place of me....Do I die eternally and wither away in the ground? Nope, for me an eternal God has created eternity for me....I beleive that His word is who he is....If not, he himself could have wiped it out from the first word....but to me, he is the word manifested in the flesh, and that is truth to me...

Let's say there is a heaven and/or afterlife....ok?

Is there an "in between stage" .....heaven__________afterlife?

What do you think?

You mean like a waiting room or somethin for lost souls to just hang around and wait to be called to Heaven?
Bible makes no mention of this...AND... I would personally be disappointed if my faith would just be M.O.T.S. [Just joking]
Seriously; I would like you to dig out your Bible and read "straight up" what Jesus himself tells us of what we have in store if we just trust him.
John cahpter 14...starting at verse 1
I am a Christian. I know what I believe is true. I would hope and pray that you would know my Saviour too! Then...YOU will know that you have a place prepared for you too!

Hmm - Do you believe...

Well, some would say YES and then others will say NO..... I guess this were YOU need to read the Bible for your self and then ask the Holly Spirit to lead YOU into a greater understanding of Gods word.

What do YOU say? - can (or will) YOU be able to do that?

IMHO... In the end, I will not dread the YES or NO of is there a waiting place as much as I want to make sure that I will be in Heaven with God when LIFE as we know it is over. Do you believe...

I don't know why there would be an inbetween place? I imagine there might be a tunnel/crossing place (river, flowery meadow, etc.) to get from one "state" to another but I can't see why there would be a waiting room to get wherever you're going. I don't believe there's "one" experience for everyone after death anymore than there's only one when we're living. My Life/experience is not like another's now so why would it be later. I don't believe in "just" heaven/hell; that, to me, would be like only believing in New York City or Southern California (I'll leave it to you to decide which is "heaven" and which, "hell" :-)

When Jesus hung on the cross between two theives, one of them repented and asked Jesus to remember him when Jesus entered his kingdom.

Jesus said "Very I say unto you, this day you will be with me in Paradise." It's not Heaven. The true believers will not enter Heaven until after the last judgement.

I respect the beliefs of those who believe in Bible scriptures.

But....for those of us who aren't Catholic or Christian....what do you believe?

For instance (humour me a bit will ya Do you believe... )......in the TV show Ghost Whisper.........Do you believe that some souls or spirits stay on earth to finish things left unsaid or undone? And then go towards a bright light or whatever (kinda like in the movie "Ghost" w/ Demi Moore).

My oldest son saw the grandmother (mine) a few days after she died. However, I don't know if she said anything to him or not. Do you believe...

I know she was there because my son pointed to where she was and it was quite a few degrees colder there than in the rest of the room.

I personally believe that we have encounters with souls, some of the unkown and some of past loved ones.

I believe there is a place where we go after death. Where we ALL go, not only the good guys. I think it's a place where we get some rest before our next life (I believe in reincarnation). I don't believe there is such place like hell.

And about the spirits... Yeah, I believe they (maybe not ghosts but there definitely is something) exist. When I was a child and we lived in our old apartment I heard things nobody else did. It happened nearly every night after the lights were turned off. I heard there was someone in the kitchen - sweeping the floor, doing dishes, glasses clinking like someone was constantly rearranging them, the sound of footsteps, the water running - one or two people bustling around. Now when I think about it it's a bit scary but then I thought it's normal and everyone can hear it (we lived there since I was 3 or 4 so it seemed like it was always there). I believed the angels were just cleaning up to help my mom since she was working all day and had very little time for anything else Do you believe.... When I was telling my mother about it she was just smiling and saying "Oh, that's very nice of them, I don't have to do this tomorrow then". That stopped when we moved to our current apartment and I just forgot about it. It came back (the memories, not ghosts) not so long ago when I was thinking about my life there. I don't know what was it but there for sure was something.
