Christ the Lord is Risen Today!
> ![]() Christ, the Lord, is risen today, Alleluia! Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia! Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia! Sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply, Alleluia! Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia! Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia! Lo! the Sun’s eclipse is over, Alleluia! Lo! He sets in blood no more, Alleluia! Vain the stone, the watch, the seal, Alleluia! Christ hath burst the gates of hell, Alleluia! Death in vain forbids His rise, Alleluia! Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia! Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia! Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia! Once He died our souls to save, Alleluia! Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia! Soar we now where Christ hath led, Alleluia! Following our exalted Head, Alleluia! Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia! Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia! Hail, the Lord of earth and heaven, Alleluia! Praise to Thee by both be given, Alleluia! Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia! Hail, the resurrection day, Alleluia! King of glory, Soul of bliss, Alleluia! Everlasting life is this, Alleluia! Thee to know, Thy power to prove, Alleluia! Thus to sing and thus to love, Alleluia! Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia! Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia! Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia! Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia! But the pains that He endured, Alleluia! Our salvation have procured, Alleluia! Now above the sky He’s King, Alleluia! Where the angels ever sing. Alleluia! Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia! Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia! Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia! Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. (Matthew 28:6) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17 ) ... be not faithless, but believing. (John 20:27) </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> I'm singing along. Amen and Alleluia.

If you visit the tombs of Mohammed or Buddha or Confucius, you will find that they are all occupied. Not so with Christ. His tomb is empty--and has been so for 2000 years.
The Resurrection is the centerpiece of the Christian faith. On it hangs our salvation. "If Christ is not risen," as Paul stated, "your faith is futile: you are still in your sins!" I Corinthians 15:17 NKJV So what is the evidence for the Resurrection? Simon Greenleaf, Royal Professor of Law at Harvard in the nineteenth century, has been called the greatest authority on legal evidences in the history of the world. He turned his mind upon the Resurrection of Christ and focused upon it the light of all the laws of evidence and concluded that the Resurrection of Christ was a reality. Frank Morrison, a British lawyer who set out to write a book refuting the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, became convinced that the evidence for it was overwhelming. He became a believer and wrote the famous book, "Who Moved the Stone?" Lew Wallace, who also set out to write a book disproving the deity of Christ and His resurrection, ended up writing "Ben Hur." The evidence for the resurrection of Christ, in the minds of those who have taken the time to examine it, is very, very significant. It includes: <ul type="square">[*] The fact that Christians meet the first day of the week. You will recall that for thousands of years, the Hebrew people had held the Sabbath to be the seventh day. This was one of the basic pillars of their religion. They were deeply attached to the Sabbath. And here we find a group of early Christian Jews changing the day of their worship from the seventh to the first day.[*] The fact that Peter, who one day was afraid of a little maiden, a few days later was confronting the whole Sanhedrin, declaring that he could not but herald that which he had seen and heard.[*]The fact of the faithfulness, chaaracter, suffering, and death of the witnesses to Christ's resurrection, most of whom sealed their testimony with their blood. It has never been known that a person was willing to give up life for what he knew to be a lie.[*]The indisputable fact that the largest instituition in the history of the world began in Jerusalem in 30 a.d., when the disciples, the Apostles, began to preach that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Today, more than two billion people profess to worship Jesus Christ as the living and risen Son of God.[*]Then there is the final fact of Christian experience. This risen Jesus Christ has gone throughout the entire world and reached down and transformed human beings in every nation, tongue, and tribe. He declares, "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore." Revelation 1:18, and "whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die" John 11:26. Even now He stands knocking at the door of your heart and says, "If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me" Revelation 3:20.[/list] I believe that unless you have come to know Him, you are without hope in this world and the world to come. Christ is risen indeed. He is alive as He says, and He is willing to come and live in your heart, if you are willing to repent of your sin and to place your trust in Him. Have you? Will you?
