Please pray for the health of my newest service-doggie-in-training Malibu...Malibu needs you...

He has very low red blood platelets and we are trying to find out why. He's only 15 months old.

I hope it turns out to be a simple problem.

They're saying throbocytopena or AIHA (auto immune hemolytic anemia?...meaning his body is killing the red blood platelets.)

More tests today...he's been on meds 2 days and eating well (steroids)...

Just a CBC unless the count is not any better, then liver tests...

Thank you for the prayers...
I'm still not over losing Caleb last year.

Only had Malibu 1 year...as of March 8th!

That's what we wanted right? A MIRACLE~!

When I took Malibu in to vet for drop off this am I stayed to speak to Vet... asked that IF his count was ANY better, not to do liver tests and see if meds work. She agreed but she did not expect any improvement in 2 days...

She called me ecstatically happy saying his count is 171!

... 200 is low end of normal... she can't believe it... from below 30 to 171 in 2 days!

Prayer!

Of course I padded the prayer with chicken livers, potted meat and added them to his angus beef broccoli carrots and kale with kibble dish.

I had said God needed to show up!

My one son said to his aging mom, "God is always there, silly".

Please continue to pray for his healing... he goes back Monday for CBC and vet still wants to do liver test. MAYBE I will allow it... but would rather wait until course of meds done in few weeks instead....I mean he might have to be on meds forever.

Thank you for standing with me,..it's been a very tough 2 days of trying my faith... etc...

Another miracle! Keep bending God's ear...He is listening!

It's been one week since Malibu could have died (and was expected to begin bleeding out...)

Today he had another CBC test and his red blood platelets are in the NORMAL range at 475!!! Malibu needs you...

God is soooo good to me right now!

Now that we have his blood normal, we need to keep focus on the cause of his problems...

he lost another 2.6 lbs since last Wednesday.

Wednesday I'm going to go ahead and pay for the liver bile acid test/biopsy. Even though the radiologist saw no problems with anything on the xrays and ultrasounds, just a small liver... we need to know IF the liver is functioning even though it's small, or if it's small and not functioning.

IDK what I want...except a totally healthy doggie!!!

If it isn't the liver and he isn't totally healed... then what is it? Pancreas? Cancer?

The vet is pretty sure it's the AIHA. This would mean a low protein-fat diet (vet says low protein, but I've been studying and it isn't the protein, he has to have that, it's a fat substance in the high fat proteins that the liver can't handle...) and NO more vaccinations ever! He's due his rabies next week... she'll provide a letter for me to send the county...and to carry...

BUT thanking GOD for this latest miracle!

Another miracle alert!

ALL of the liver biopsies came back normal.

Now why I had to take money out of savings to cover all the testing only to find out he's now okay...

ok I won't go there but instead

THANK GOD and you all who have been praying to Him!

I won't even entertain that there is something else hidden that is going to take his life... nooo I'm feeding him high protein to try and put weight on him (continue praying?) and in 2 weeks he will be off all medications and back to Vet for a checkup.

He's tapering off the medications now... one main one is the prednisone. That's for suppressing his immune system which the Vet thinks is killing the red blood platelets.

He's still on the antibiotic to protect him from what might befall him without a strong immune system.

Next eval is April 3rd. IF his blood platelet count has fallen at all, then he has AIHA and will be on steroids and antibiotics the rest of his life...and never have any more vaccinations either (which what causes this syndrome?)

BUT on the good side of things: HE'S GAINED 2 1/2 LBS in just a few days now!!! He needs another 8.

He's still gaining weight! He's at 47.2 lbs now... the most he has ever weighed... and he has two days more on the prednisone (with a day off in between) ...

I cut back on how much food he gets and cut out one meal... and he still gained 3 lbs in 3 days. whoa!

Praise God!
