My brother has the kindest soul I have ever known. He has cared for his wife, who has myasthenia gravis, and has raised three kids to adulthood.

Almost a year ago, he was laid off from a job he had for over thirty years. That job paid pretty well, but with all his wife's medical bills, it was not possible to save a large amount of money. He is now losing his house, and just recently found a part time job at Home Depot...where he is paid $10/hr to bring the carts in from the parking lot.

As bad as this all is, he started having pain in his left arm a few days ago. Like many, he blew it off, until he had more severe pain in his arm, and now chest, last night. Thankfully, he is in the hospital, and scheduled for a heart cath at noon.

He has dealt with so, so much, please pray that he makes it thru this okay, and that life becomes kinder to him.

The cath lab didn't give us good news. Lots of arterial blockage, he is now in ICU. Bypass surgery being scheduled.

Thank your very much for your thoughts and prayers. My brother has 90% blockage in his arteries, and will be getting a quadruple bypass tomorrow. CV surgeon expects the surgery to go well (no side issues to complicate things), so that is hopeful news.

Thank you Clairvoyant Boy and avlady. He has been in surgery for 3 hours. Found out that they are a bit worried about him bleeding too much because of previous medications. A hemotologist is in there, and blood is on standby, but no bleeding problems so far. The surgeon is currently happy with how surgery has been going.

My brother is making an amazingly quick recovery. Other than the expected post-op pain, and the required restrictions for activity...it is like he is the same as he was before surgery. lol, although I am betting he feels much better without the clogged arteries.
