I hope the storm stays off the coast as it moves northeast away from the coast.

:Prayer:
It is just SE of me right now... no expected direct hit tonight to where I am but farther up coast...and then again on Tuesday after it circles back around to take another bite of FL. Prayer Works. My brother called from NY area...I said I need the storm to move to the East so the hurricane force winds miss me and to speed up so it's intensity drops. He said it isn't going to be able to do that since the High pressure is sitting there. I said God's power can do it. I prayed that in God's power this storm would do those things and within the hour, it had! It went from 40% to being hit by hurricane winds to 15% and now even lower. It went from 8 mph to 11 mph to now 14 mph forward speed and the pressure when from 135 to 140 showing it had weakened. Pray that it not only moves farther east, misses FL coast and SC, NC but that it goes on out into the ocean and not circle back down around to hit us again by Tuesday. God can do this. ![]()

Quote:
It did move farther east, against all odds. It was a God-thing for sure! Still, there are those up the coast that suffered so much. Nearly 1 1/2 million people out of power for a bit... that's down to a few hundred thousand. FPL brought in extra trucks from other States, as in agreement and they were parked not far from here. I bought/built my home in a priority grid, and we never lost power. THANK GOD! If you wish to help those who have suffered, check out Samaritan's Purse. They provide free food, water, shelter, clean up, and counseling and they take very little for administration. (As opposed to the ARC for example). You can also plan to volunteer with them in the future. Haiti needs bigger help, but it always fails to get there through the government sources. Samaritan's Purse helps there too, as it has recently in SC and still in LA from the flooding. They were the only NGO to be allowed into Pakistan (I think ) after their earthquake years ago. Trusted around the world for doing good for it's neighbor. Prayer works too. ![]()
