Now when I say treehuggers I don't mean generic hippies, although HI to you too. I am asking if there are any other druids here and if there is a place to chat with people of like beliefs and whatnot.

I'm not a druid however I feel very close to trees. To me, they are very wise and "sacred" beings. I don't have any philosophy, practice or spirituality, but I feel a very strong connection to them.

I feel a strong connection to trees too. I'm interested in nature worship and paganism, but I don't really know enough or whether any paths fit me.

At the old house I recently moved from, there were two big old Pines at the front of the property, sat on either side of the path that led to the house. My housemates and I called them the protectors. The best times were sitting on the porch during a storm, watching them get blown around and drenched in rain. And at night when everything was quiet and still, especially when the moon was up. I once saw a little fox run through the front yard and out through the trees. Just thought I'd share a story of some trees I love. :P

Last Saturday I hugged a solitary tree in a meadow and in my mind I saw how my body turned to bark and we connected to one being. It was absolutely magical.
I wasn't trying to visualise anything, it came suddenly and naturally.

I have have had a soft spot for trees all my life... well as far back as I can recall. I have a number of Lawson's cypress and Plum trees growing around me which I find peaceful even as they sway in the wind.

Can't say I'm a hippie or a druid but I have hugged a few trees in the middle of the night when no one was looking, ha. After all, they're helping to keep us alive. I felt it was right to show them my gratitude, somehow.

Forests are my 'safe place'. I feel at home, a sense of peace, and a connection to the earth and what matters. Nothing upsets me more than to see a tree cut down for no apparent good reason. For instance a neighbour just had his fir trees cut down all on account he didn't like raking up pinecones. Really? I mean these trees must have been 50-60 years old. I just about died inside.

My beliefs closely align with NEO-paganism, I lean more Wiccan than Druid but nature and trees are a huge part of it. When manic I've been known to go on a save the trees kick, it's my religious kick, not God, not saving people but saving trees.

I also love trees, and have great respect for them. I see them as living breathing beings just like us humans. There's nothing that makes me as happy as being in nature, I really don't believe that we are meant to live in cities. Don't know much about druids but things like that fascinates me and your post has made me wanting to research it for sure

There's a great book that came out a few years ago, The Hidden Life of Trees, I haven't read it myself but I've heard it's a really good book.

When I was around 7-8 years old, my uncle, cousins, sister and I all climbed a tree in my grandparents backyard, and suddenly it cracked at the base and the tree with all of us in it fell down. I remember thinking we are going to be in so much trouble, but no, my grandma was totally okay with it all.

I feel as if the planet Earth is a gigantic organism and is conscious along with the universe. Whether that be down to the waters, mountains, plants, wild life and entire ecosystems, I feel/think everything should be protected and loved.

Well, Trees, hedgerows, wild grasses, ferns and all kinds of everything that grows have a special place in my heart. although I do feel a bit down when I see someone come along and cut them down or dig them up. That kind of happens a lot when you live as I do in the country.

I have studied into Druidry and it is a lovely tradition. I've always found myself at home among Druids. We share a true love of nature, trees and understanding their wisdom and healing properties. We might not walk the same path, but I would say we're on a similar road my friend. I am always open to hearing more and having wisdom shared.

Trees deserve all the love and conversations.
Thanks for this!
