I am asking people to pray for the Tibetan people.

The movement must come for the people. Our leaders are too afraid right now to do anything. This must come for the streets of the freeworld.

For 49 years this oppression has been allowed to continue.

WE the people must not continue to walk with blinders.

call people to prayer... to action.... to releasing good energy to protect the Tibetan people. At the rate things are going as we speak a slaughter may be coming very soon over there.

((((((nowheretorun)))))))

i agree we must be much in prayer for people in such struggles all over the world.

I pray the oppression be lifted, that you God would embrace them all in Your light and give them the protectio found in Your perfect love. May all who need You, seek You. And all who seek shall find.
amen

Dalai Lama condemns Tibet crackdown

Hundreds of police have been been deployed
on the streets of the Tibetan capital [AFP]
The Dalai Lama, Tibet's spiritual leader, has called for an international inquiry into what he calls China's "rule of terror" and "cultural genocide" in Tibet.

Speaking from Dharmsala in northern India on Sunday, he said: "They [the Chinese] simply rely on using force in order to simulate peace, a peace brought by force using a rule of terror."

Lhasa, the Tibetan capital, meanwhile was quiet but tense two days after Tibetans torched buildings and stoned Chinese residents in the fiercest challenge to Beijing's rule over the region in nearly two decades.

Hundreds of police and soldiers patrolled the streets, enforcing a strict curfew.

Thank you Nowhere for posting this prayer request. I have been watching reports all day.... praying for miracles to cross the land.

It horrible waiting and watching for the possible horrors that may be about to be unleased. It is heartwrenching.

I can't not do anything. When asked about Canada's position on the Olympic Games the foreign minister said "It's too early to say." What's he waiting for... the threatened slaughter of more monks and desperate people? Perhaps his reservation can be taken as a good sign... they are prepared to act if pressured.

I've started a letter campaign to Canadian atheletes, VIPs expected to attend the games and even corporations who are sponsoring the games. Boycotting the games and sponsor's products. I can talk with my money and encourage others to do the same.

I can't just sit and accept this. I can't sit back and cheer for the atheletes knowing what I know. I'm hoping others will feel the same and follow their principles for human rights and equality and use their power to effect change.

The governments won't do anything. They are too indebted to China to risk our own national economies and such.

We the people have to take this into our own hands and use our voices and our spending dollars to pressure those who can make an impact on China to Free Tibet Now!!

Thanks again NW..... I'd have posted earlier but I used up my newbie limit before I could get here to comment.

Fasting again tomorrow..... may I remain strong and steadfast to carrying this burden on my heart until changes happen...... May I not get complacent and numb to the pain of others. May I not forget or neglect the suffering of my neighbour.

I've noticed a remarkable more quiet US media on this issue. The Canadian and British media have been on this story for days with expanded coverage and special documentaries. While it seems to only get short sound bits in the US.
