Is it possible? I've heard some preachers talk about this. I wondering if anyone knows anything about this and if there's any way of breaking free of it. If it's too religious related then I would love to receive your PM.

You've probably heard "Do good & good will come to you!" I'm sorry but my entire life I've tried soooo hard to be good. In childhood I used to beg my friends to be nice & mature like adults. In adulthood my biggest dream was to help the world, or at least start a non-profit charity organization. I love all life. Even the small ants who walk in lines along the cement I always try to step over them. The crickets in the house I try to set free outside. So why does bad luck follow me every where I go? Is it ancestry DNA related? I've heard preachers talk about this but I don't understand it.

Thanks for any help!

You seem distressed. I am sorry to read that; I hope I can offer some advice, since you asked. Here is my opinion. I don't know if there are random forces in the world (which would be how I describe luck, were I to believe in such a thing.) There could be random forces in the world. But I do know that human beings can decide on a course of action and proceed accordingly, and I recommend that rather than worrying about luck. You mentioned feeling as though you had to beg your childhood friends to be like adults. No one should have to beg for decent treatment. Decent people offer kindness willingly. And children will (and should) act like children, which means they will not be perfectly behaved all the time because they are still learning.

It sounds to me like you want to share care and concern with the world. You might want to spend some time looking into volunteer work (or if you are in school--in going into a helping profession). There are animal charities, nursing homes, food pantries--all potential area where you might donate your time. Please consider acting on your loving impulses and I think you will find you will worry less about the past and on random forces. I hope this helps.

I think this is what you are talking about: How To Pass From Curse to Blessing by Derek Prince complete(
)

My children's (especially one of the two) favorite holiday was Halloween, etc. I also became very interested in astrology because a family member had become so interested after my attempt (looking back seeing if the stars predicted it, etc). I became a bit mesmerized with some of the horoscopes on Youtube for a while to the point that I didn't need to check in at PC, instead, I was checking into Youtube astrology videos for a few months.

Then I saw the above Youtube video. It scared me so much that I will never watch an psychic reading ever again. Especially after I confirmed that the scriptures say divination is one of the worst things you can do. So I understand your concern. I do think evil forces in this world have power but unsure if they have as much as this preacher has experienced. IMO doing good and having good intentions does protect us to some extent--there are natural consequences for doing bad things (you reap what you sow, etc.).

I don't think anyone is born with bad luck. We are in control of ourselves. Unfortunately there are a lot of bad people who cause problems in our lives. I have never heard any preacher say that. Why don't you follow your dream and open up that non-profit? Don't let others make decisions for your life. I have always thought we are here to make a difference; I hope you do that!

Thanks for the replies. I'm always willing to listen. I can't say for certain what's the cause but bad luck has definitely followed me my entire life. It's very noticeable.

Thanks for the youtube video TunedOut. I found Derek Prince's to be very interesting. After watching the video and searching around I found one of Derek Prince's pdf files, especially pages 4 & 5.

I understand a lot of people here don't believe in it. Personally I have no idea if it's true or not but willing to try. As I was saying I've had bad luck as far back as I can remember. As a young child I was very interested in psychics and the supernatural. Still am. I'd still like to find out if people are effected by their ancestors.

At certain times in the past, I've thought I've had bad luck. But, now, with a bit of perspective, I've learned not to think so much about it. It's not true that I don't still have days where I think that unfortunate things have happened to me. Of course, those unfortunate events still happened in my past. But, if I can learn to view my past with a little more distance, it seems to help. I hope that is somewhat related to the replies you were expecting in this thread.

Bad luck implies preset destiny or fate IMO. I do not believe we live a life where our choices and experiences are preset choices that we were pre=destined to make. I believe in free will and that our actions create consequences or create good in our lives.

I wish that was always true. I’m just thinking of when my brother who is eight years older than me tortured me when I was an infant, doing things that you can’t believe. Hm I wonder what an infant did to deserve that.

I think the universe is a little bit more complicated.

Here's an amazing beautiful song someone recommended called "You're Gonna Be Okay"

The lyrics

I know it's all you've got to just be strong
And it's a fight just to keep it together, together
I know you think that you are too far gone
But hope is never lost, hope is never lost

Hold on, don't let go
Hold on, don't let go

Just take one step closer
Put one foot in front of the other
You'll get through this
Just follow the light in the darkness
You're gonna be ok

I know your heart is heavy from those nights
But just remember that you are a fighter, a fighter
You never know just what tomorrow holds
And you're stronger than you know, stronger than you know

Hold on, don't let go
Hold on, don't let go

Just take one step closer
Put one foot in front of the other
You'll get through this
Just follow the light in the darkness
One step closer
Put one foot in front of the other
You'll get through this
Just follow the light in the darkness
You're gonna be ok

And when the night is closing in
Don't give up and don't give in
This won't last, it's not the end, it's not the end
You're gonna be ok
When the night is closing in
Don't give up and don't give in
This won't last, it's not the end, it's not the end
You're gonna be ok

I think yes. I don't have "bad luck" per se, but I don't have good luck.

My brother, on the other hand, has always had good luck. As a child he got in a car accident and just literally rolled over - realized he got in the car accident - and ran home. Nothing broken.

As a teenager he was working at a major retail store for a just a few weeks and all the managers quit and he was made assistant manager.

Later her got into a car accident and was fine. But ended up consulting an attorney and the trucking company had a ton of coverage and he got an easy and substantial recovery.

We actually make a joke out of it.

^I do believe we are affected by our ancestors, but not necessarily to be cursed with bad luck. It’s their traits we carry down. It’s their stories and events that affect how we think and what we do. We make our own destiny.
