I mainly read spiritual books. They help me cope with my emotions and have faith that there is some purpose to my life. I thought we could have a thread where we share what we are reading. I'll start.
I'm re-reading Change Me Prayers: The Hidden Power of Spiritual Surrender by Tosha Silver. It's a book of short stories about the author's spiritual experiences and includes little prayers. It soothes my soul. __________________ ‘Live for now,’ ‘This too shall pass,’ ‘Everything is happening for my good.’ |

You know, I found a lot of books by Sylvia Browne the known psychic to have written a lot of spiritual books, and not just on psychic abilities or of the sort. She wrote a book on dreams, pets, angels, spiritual journeys, and all of them seemed to sound like she knew what she wss taking about. She even wrote a book about the Mother God, God, Mary Megdeline, and Jesus. Very interesting readings.

I guess I'll mention the one book besides the Bible that has influenced me for the good since 1992 to the present! (I listen to it, or parts of it often on youtube as an audiobook.) 'Hinds' Feet on High Places'! The most inspiring, encouraging book I've ever read besides the Bible! It's like a gentle, sweet friend with beautiful words and is an allegory about the spiritual journey. You learn lessons from nature. One of my favorites is about a tiny red flower with only two or three leaves and a stem that is thread-like in its thinness. It insists on blooming from out of the rock where it is imprisoned so that it can receive the sun's glorious rays! __________________ Why is the truth the hardest thing to tell? I just found a new book by Rhonda Byrne. It's The Greatest Secret. I've read the first chapter. It's really good. It's helping my mood to read it.

I'm trying to read Andrew Phillip's Smith "The Secret History of the Gnostics", but it seems to start thundering Everytime I do.
I only partly believe it but I think the "Demiurge" is trying to scare me away from finishing it. I tell Him/Her I'm not a Gnostic. I don't believe in any texts. Just basic principles shared by many others. Probably across the entire Universe |
