Psychosis convinced me. I saw to the heart of things, which I had not previously done.

I don't believe in the Biblical God, but rather a Great Spirit. I think the Abrahamic God is mean and heartless.

I think the Great Spirit created us and is now hands-off, observing us.

Why did he create us, what do you think? That's what I don't understand. To me, (if we assume there is a God, of which I am not certain) God's creation of us feels like the original sin, not Adam eating from the trea of the knowledge of good and evil, or anything else.

Because he's omnipotent and immortal and bored.

the mere fact that you are here and alive in this universe of happings is the proof but you have to look closely to see that. 'we' made none of it. look closely l🙏

Oh, I know that. I agree. The evil within me has to be changed by me. And that's not about God wanting me to, that's about me wanting to be good and at peace. Changing this is my number one priority.

Yes @AliceKate. But how do you think you or this universe originated? You or we didn't make it.

well, mote.of.soul, I'd say that I don't know. the universe may be eternal, in an endless cycle from creation to death and reincarnation as the Hindus believe. It may be eternal in that e.g. black holes recycle energy or move it from one corner of a multiverse to the other and thus it never dies, and never is created.
Granted, if it has a clear cut beginning, such as a big bang, this makes a creator more likely. However, I would point out that no scripture I am aware of ever states that God created "something from nothing", as such his power only seems as omnipotent in comparison to ours.

Yes @AliceKate, all very good ideas and observations etc of trying to describe something that is beyond mere words really. But we must try, yes. Me, I've never really needed convincing because I just look through these eyes which aren't my own, life made them (I could insert the dreaded 'g' word here but that might make ppl think of a big bearded white man sitting on a cloud telling ppl what to do and no one likes that) at a world which is very beautiful and very heartbreaking too. In death I think we're all shown the truth but no one comes back to share that truth. Well, actually sometimes they do.

Yes, agreed. And spiritual experiences like I've had makes it such a struggle to doubt the existance of, as you call it, life. It's just that believing in him is also a struggle. I really think he did wrong by us in creating us, if he did. I understand it, cause as Silent Void said, the guy's basically omnipotent, immortal, and bored. Probably a bit mad too, by our standards. What isolation does to you. So maybe given time I can forgive him creating us, but I still think the act in itself was kind of evil. Other than that, I can forgive his flaws as a parent, but creation really feels like the original sin to me (and not Adam eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil).

I think I've commented on this a couple of times and I'm going to add to it.

But anyway, I believe I came to believe in that which I believe in through being very thankful I was ever born. I used to be more of a happy person, but this did not die away. I feel like through randomness and the sheer fact I was the strongest candidate to live and prosper who did try to come alive and if I wasn't this strongest of the lot I never would have existed. My faith is Catholicism and yet I find myself coming to my own ideas of things. The point is I am very glad to be alive and find tiny details in anything that make me laugh and smile so I naturally believe we all are meant for more than this or anything that even this life could give and I question why not all people believe in God since there seems to be real positivity and sheer pointed-ness to all those little details. Just the fact that Love exists makes me believe there is something more to this life. Seeing these things work during all the different types of love makes me believe in God and that there is a higher calling for the entire population. Love above all things is the greatest treasure of all. Love is patient and love is kind and love knows no bounds. I love seeing a grandfather interact with his granddaughter. Every time I see a smile it makes me want to sing because I appreciate the art of living.

DPDR from a psilacetin overdose and talking to shaman-like people (All of this took a few years).

Since I realized that "life is life", and infinity exists, I've become less creative, in trying to figure it out, but more stable. There's no more panic attacks.

The way I felt over come by the Holy Spirit in my heart and I was so overwhelmed all I could do was weep. I cut myself off from Him in my addiction and when I got clean, it took weeks, but I hit my knees and begged to feel His presence again. The next day it hit me like a tidal wave. These days I can't sing praise and worship music at church without crying my eyes out, but in a good way. It's a hard feeling to explain but I consider it proof.

I thought it was the seat behind the drivers seat that was the safest? Cause a driver is going to instinctively (spelling) swerve to put the rest of the car between them and the danger?
