I need to find something to believe in. My life got too hard and I was ignorant. I didn't believe in anything. The law of attraction almost convinced me since I've experienced some really weird situations... Of course I know I have to put in work, too. With that in mind, can I trust the law of attraction?

Here's what I've got (one of few examples):

Three years ago I wanted to buy a very unusual, used car. There were only 10 cars like that available in my whole country (Poland) - I mean the engine, color, version. I tried to get one, but they were either messed up or too expensive. I gave up, but I thought to myself: I'm gonna get one sooner or later.

Few months later I've found one IN MY HOME TOWN (out of 20 in a whole country where 38 MILLION PEOPLE LIVE).

He's my baby since that day. I bought it and its perfect. For three years I didn't have any problems with it.

How, I ask myself.

Do you believe in the law of attraction?

I have never looked up on it myself but I believe you can manifest things in to reality but a person could be terribly delusional too and can Imagine things are happening that way when it actually isn't if you know what I mean.

Don't believe in the law of attraction, but do believe in Joseph Campbell's idea of the Thousand Unseen Helping Hands. In other words - human goodness. If you pursue your passion, then people will naturally try to help you, especially if they are part of your "tribe" - artists will help artists, writers will help writers, and so on.

Unfortunately the idea of a "Law of Attraction" is a double edged sword. The author of The Secret fell into disrepute after she claimed that victims of a tsunami were emitting "tsunami-like vibrations." This story encapsulates why the law of attraction is similar to slimy religious leaders' claims that God helped them gain power/get rich, or whatever. It's too easy to fall into a "blame the victim/reward the lucky" mentality - where if you're poor you must deserve it and if you're rich you must deserve it.

Also unfortunately - the universe can kick people who are down. Fortune not only favours the bold - it favours the attractive, the young, the well-connected, those with money and physical and psychological health. Someone can fall on hard times through no fault of their own, and may find their friends abandon them.

But the thousand helping hands are still out there. You just need to keep reaching for them.

Do you believe in the law of attraction?

After years of careful observation, I have come to perceive the 'Law of Attraction' as a concept often used for personal gratification rather than a genuine source of enlightenment. It seems to be just one among many New-Age ideas that blend half-truths and recycled metaphysical narratives, cleverly marketed as long-lost secrets.

This notion has been duplicated numerous times under different names, each with minor variations, all aiming to promote books, workshops, one-on-one sessions, subscriptions, and more. These offerings cater to individuals who yearn to transcend their current state of being. It reminds me of a charismatic Pentecostal gathering, where high emotional energy runs rampant, and attendees become addicted to ongoing meetings filled with various Tony Robbins methodologies.

Having delved deeply into all of the above, I found that my involvement did not bring me any real benefit. In fact, it caused a great deal of damage, which is too complex to fully unravel. When it comes to a spiritual path, I perceive the self-serving aspect that blinds those who are consumed by higher frequencies as reminiscent of the pitfalls of my past drug addiction.

Regarding spiritual support, I consciously choose not to "believe" in any particular narrative, book, lecture, guru, podcast, or similar sources. I understand the human need to believe in something, but for me, terms like creator, universe, and one have lost all meaning due to my exposure to the cult-like mentality that often accompanies them.

I don't believe in anything, but I wholeheartedly embrace the idea of returning to the source without any desire to return to this existence. I prioritize finding relief from pain and have a deep compassion for those dwelling in lower vibrations, more so than for the fallacies I observe in others who are addicted to the pursuit of eternal bliss. I see the same issues within so-called divine circles, clubs, and groups where the need for belonging is exploited, just as it is in mainstream religion or secular society. The warning signs become evident when wealth and status take precedence in titles and comment sections. The fallacy persists with material possessions and various forms of self-gratification.

I much prefer the path of the mindless blob. Please pardon me as I chuckle. People are so consumed by the desire for more, to be bigger and better, that they fail to comprehend the peace that arises from emptying the mind of such desires and attachments.

In short, I find the Law of Attraction filled with nothing but attachments.

I believe in prayer, but I am not sure about the LOA. However, that being said, like you it worked for me once when I wanted to double my salary. I was determined, and knew I could do it. My father said, no you can't, and not without a higher degree. So, I said to him, oh yeah? Watch me. And within one month, I had a job offer in a totally different industry and field that doubled my salary.
