Friends,

I am starting this thread so we can pray for young men who are fighting in Iraq right now.

This post is to request prayer for Kevin. I was shocked to learn today that he was called out to Iraq three weeks ago. I had called his home today to find out why he hadn't been in class for three weeks. After I left a message, his father called me back, and said he had been called out. He was one of the nicest and smartest young men in my class.

Thank you ((EJ))

I've been praying for ALL of our men and women every day since March 19, 2003. I've also been mourning the almost 4000 U.S. souls lost to this war, along with all the innocent victims.

I received a bit of good news the other day. My son's orders have been changed, and he will NOT be going to Iraq in May - he'll be deployed to the Philippines as originally planned. I'm SO happy - I didn't think I'd be able to hold my breath that long if he did go.

I'm adding Kevin to my prayers, and I hope he'll come home safe and whole.

(((hugs))) While the Phillipines do appear to be less dangerous, he will still need your fervent prayers there. Thread for our soldiers

This thread makes me terribly sad. I would like the war to end. I'd like all those young men and women to come home safely. I'd like the people in Iraq and Afghanistan to not have to fear for their lives and their loved ones. I'd like no more children to die, I'd like no more parents to grieve. I'd like us to learn from our mistakes.

I want the war to end and I'm not going to get my wish. But I can still pray in my own way for peace.

I also pray for our soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen, thanking God that they are brave enough to fight the evil of the world, and for freedom not just for us here in the USA, but for the Afghans and Iraqis, for Muslim, Jew, and Christian alike.

Freedom isn't free. God bless our warriors of peace.
