I am not sure if there is a post on this anywhere, but it is on my heart right now. I heard this news story about another mother who tried to take the life of her kids in Dallas,Tx. (Forgive the graphic view of the incident) She dropped them into rush hour traffic off the overpass and jump after. I praise God because they all lived. The kids are being removed from her custody. My prayer is that they are placed with a family that will love them and teach them the love of God and that God blesses them beyond measure. If your heart is moved to do so, pray for them as well.

you know this kind of stuff just breaks my heart. children are gifts from above and should be cherished. I will keep them in my prayers.

As I listened to the report on the radio taking my kids to school, tears flooded my eyes. The mind wanted to scream "Why LORD, why!!? But the heart whispers back, "it's going to be alright." I know that God has this, it just that there has been so many in the news in just the last 3, like Andrea Yates. Lord open our eyes and the eyes of others to see the signs.

Hearing events like these as well as of physical & sexual abuse of kids breaks my hearts. When my daughter was born, one of the first thoughts in my mind as I watched them cleaning her up was, "How could anyone do such things to their own child?" I often wondered what was going on in the mind that a person would harm a child or exploit a child. God be with us and give us the wisdom, protection and courage to confront such pains.

Some people think babies are puppets or clay they can mold into perfect citizens. Some people think babies are one step above having a babydoll to cuddle and feed, then place on the shelf when life gets in the way - or when the babydoll won't stop crying. Some people think babies are like puppies - to train, order around and perform tricks for them. Some people think they have the money and resources to raise a child to adulthood. Some people think their community or relatives will help them out if they get in a bind and need help raising their child.
 I wish people would think long and hard before having a child. A child is the most precious gift of all, but it is also a major sacrifice, headache and source of sleepless nights for the rest of your life - that is, if you care about your child. I will pray for the Busby children - and their mother too. How tragic.

I do agree with you KathyM, children are a gift, a precious gift from God as Scripture states. I would die for my kids countless times over. It is truly a tragedy that "some people" treat them like tools, toys and pawns as well as for tax incentives and government assistance.
On the children I have found that their names are Gary Ford, 8, and Derrick Tennison, 6. The mother is Khandi Busby, 27. may you be beyond blessed....

Tragedy of our children happens far too much these days. Sending my heartfelt thoughts with the kids and their family (including Mom).
