Do you think life is inherently meaningless?
If not, why?

No, not at all.

The meaning of life, to me, is more about appreciation of it than about a "right" answer.

Fuzzybear, I'm posting so you don't feel left out... but I'm not sure how to answer without bringing my personal faith into this...and that's against the guidelines....

Life has to have meaning/purpose. It also requires hope.

What types of things would make life meaningful for you? Do you

Life is full of meaning IMO. I don't have to bring my beliefs about what's meaningful and what's not because they are mine. To me life is about more than just reproducing to watch your own grow and all that...stuff that I see so many people focusing on. But it's not unimportant, either.

I guess my life is full of meaning because I choose to see meaning in everything around me. I see everything, good & bad, to have some sort of meaning. Seeing things have a meaning to me...hearing things...doing things...all have some sort of meaning in my eyes.

The only meaning to life is that which you decide to give it.

Life to me would be less meaningful if we were just here for all those years and then we died and were nothing. Life's meaning for me comes from understanding that this life isn't all there is. We were somebody before we were born, and we chose to experience this life, as it may be, and we will be ever so much more. We will build on the experiences of this life, and the relationships that we develop, and will continue to progress.

One might also ask if education were inherently meaningless, or if a visit to another country were inherently meaningless. It's all what you do with it.

((( hugs )))

inherently meaningless? how about just pointless...unless you're aware of the reason you were put here. Then, we find the meaning we're looking for, the reason to wake up before the alarm goes off everyday... Instead of being like the little dog who saw happiness in his tail and ran in circles...we walk in our purpouse and it follows us everywhere we go! SO, why were you put here? it's simple really...because someone loved you! before you were even born and every minute since, were you to "love them back" you'd have a relationship, a very meaningful relationship,a very meaninful LIFE! or, we could just wonder why we're depressed, anxious, paranoid, obsessive, etc...we're too busy dealing with the symptoms of NOT having a relationship to actually have one...it makes ALL the sense of the world...(sadly)

I Know that the purpose of life is to glorify God.

That is what we were created for. In my opinion.

This is not to say I am a expert on this subject, since I fall short of this process on a daily bases.

I just know my meaning for life.
