Friends,

God in His infinite wisdom still has me right here in the middle of the beautiful Kansas prairie.

Many of you cheered me on at the end of the summer, as I completed a three-week online class, that felt like more of an audition, to become certified to teach at a local university. I have been teaching an online class at this institution for a week now.

I could use some prayers for strength and wisdom in balancing this new class with the other two I already have from the community college.

I am also slogging through multiple serious financial issues, so any prayers in this regard will also be most appreciated.

I have a lot of grading to work on, so must run for now.

Thank you my friends, for your anticipated support,

EJ

Pachy, NowheretoRun, Bee, Mental Pollution, Sky and Bee,

Thank you all for your notes of support.

NowheretoRun, your avatar looks just like my black cat, Little Bear, who is 22 years old. I do have to admit he is smaller than your friend.

I needed to take on the third class to help with our bills, but boy is my body, mind and psyche protesting.

The students in my Thursday face-to-face class have been awful for the most part. There are a couple of first time Freshman, who just won't shut up when I'm lecturing. Now they have been out of class for two weeks. Students range in age from 18 to I'd say 30-something. They have all been whining and demanding. I get paid about $5/hour to teach this class. They actually pay me by credit hour, but by the time I put in the minimum amount of time to get things down, that's what it works out to.

That's why I have been looking into more lucrative gigs, but our budget is going to be tight until I turn 62 next July (2009), and I can collect Social Security.

In the meantime I need some extra prayers for extra strength.

Thank you my friends,

EJ

(((EJ))) don't try to outtalk them. If there's no one in the class who will put peer pressure for them to be quiet, then so be it. Don't talk. Tell them if they don't receive the material, they can't pass the test, and that will reflect poorly on them. I know it will show on your scores too, but the sooner you put your foot down, the better?
