a post in General (since removed for undetermined reasons at this time) prompted me to make this prayer for USA talk radio hosts... i pray that they will see the harmfulness of their actions in disrespectful speech which all of America is exposed to...

in particular this quotation which is emotionally harmful towards children and their parents alike..

says Michael Savage (USA talk radio host) of autistic chidren:

</font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>
Among the other admonitions he felt children with autism should be hearing, he said, were: “ ‘Straighten up. Act like a man. Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.’ ”

</div></font></blockquote><font class="post">

i can appreciate resolution of controversy and the apparent evidence that discussion is how it comes about.....

this is a prayer that USA talk radio hosts will do all in thier power to heal not harm.... enough harm already... ty Great Spirit

I to pray that anyone with a public forum, will take the time to really think before they speak. Words can hurt so easily and hurt so many people too. Sometimes radio hosts use their words to garner ratings, to bad many times they also further ignorance and stigma.

I will pray too, NWTR!

(((Muffy)))

When I first read about the comment regarding autism, I thought, "How ignorant!"

But then I thought of parents of special needs children. Parenting is a tough job. PERIOD! It is made even tougher when a parent is dealing with a special needs child, especially children who have no physical signs that call attention to their disability.

To have someone who has a public forum, radio, TV, newspaper column, etc., spout off about something they obviously know nothing about, is inexcusable!

I will pray that people who cause so much pain with their words, be shown how and why their ignorant words hurt! May there ignorant eyes be opened!

(And working in the field, I ask that they also be shown the special love a child who has disabilities can give.... Prayer for USA Talk Radio Hosts)

each child born, despite disabilities, has the power within to help another life in some way... this gives each of us (we all were born) an opportunity to rise above our obstacles and do something positive for those around... these radio hosts came from the same place as we all did... i pray that each in this field of work where public voice reaches public ears will feel the spirit of healing move within them.. every child is important.. every last one of them .. i dream of the day when all people will be given fair opportunity... we all matter, we all make a difference, we all can rise above....

best wishes and prayers for all on this forum, for all on this planet Earth.. peace to you always Prayer for USA Talk Radio Hosts

Let's hope this man never becomes the parent of an autistic child. With a comment like that, I hope he's not the parent of ANY child. It really grates my nerves when people call their kids names like "idiot." Prayer for USA Talk Radio Hosts

I hope he gets a lot of callers in to set him straight.
