please pray for my son today. he is on the racetrack for the first time today. I am very worried about him. he called me and said ma you know what to do. I said pray and he said yes. he said you know I don't believe in that but you do. I know deep in my heart he does too or he would not have called and asked for it.

me too! he says he doesn't believe in prayers or God but I know deep inside he does. if he didn't he sure wouldn't ask for them.

Hey! I used to ride! Even took it up to the white sands of Daytona once. Yes, dangerous, especially if it were these days when my vertigo kicks in...but he doesn't have that problem right! I think on the race track they will watch for the keeping of safety regulations, and racing protocols. It's off track that I would be most concerned about.

LOL Bebop - I'm glad it worked out okay.

When my son was in junior high, my husband came home with a little Triumph motorcycle - told my son it was time for him to learn to ride. My son had never been on a motorcycle and had no interest in learning. I told him to go for a ride on the back first to see if he still had no interest. When they returned after a short ride, my son was so excited he looked like he had stars in his eyes.

The next day my husband took him out. I supported my husband's decision, but I was afraid to watch so I stayed home. When they returned, my husband walked through the door with a big smile on his face and proud as a peacock. He said "He's a natural!"

I'm so glad my husband taught him how to ride. My son bought himself a "crotch rocket" motorcycle while on base, and it was a lifesaver for him. It may not be the safest form of recreation, but it was better than sitting around and getting drunk with the rest of the sailors.
