God continues to bless! Some weeks back after an oil change my car began burning oil and smoking. It took me till yesterday to take it into the shop for a complete diagnostic. All it needed was a new air filter...and a NEW ENGINE!!!

I called the guy back today, to see what "other arrangements" could be made. It turns out it fits all the parameters specified in a Technical Service Bulletin. (Something they put out so they don't have to have a recall, but covers stuff IF you bring the car in for that during the allowed time.)

It had to be a car less than 8 years old. (Bought it 2001)
It had to have less than 100k miles (98,200)
It had to have been built between 6/2000 and 6/2002 (it was made 9/2001?)

Hehehe... so THEY are covering the engine! That was $5700. they wanted from me that I don't have to pay. There are still some little details to work out (as in I don't think I should have to pay for the gaskets since it's not my fault the engine sludged up, and now that they are paying for it, they aren't replacing the engine but only cleaning it out???)

Thank God for His Goodness and constant caring for me.

wow, isn't God awesome! i am so glad this happened for your benefit. it is good to hear a joyful praise report, i kinda needed to hear something good. i'm happy for you. God is good all the time, not just when something great like this happens but i do enjoy when things turn out well!

Took her in today... should have her back within 2 weeks. Meanwhile, they are providing a rental for me to drive.

The item actually isn't a TSB nor a recall, "just" the engine gel settlement order. They won't know until they take the engine apart just how bad my car is...then they'll take pictures and email them to the head office for determination (with measurements I'm sure.) It's been burning oil for quite a while now, so "hopefully" the block will be beyond repair and I will receive a NEW engine and not a rebuild with only 1 year's warranty.

Also...on another note... the mattress that I bought a few months ago has failed, and they are replacing it this weekend...free of charge of course. That could have gone a different way also, as everyone knows. Thank God for His intervention in this. It's tough enough to have these types of life issues occur, but to have people and companies step up to the plate is really what I need, and very much appreciate.

yes patience and understanding can go along way in helping what is already a very stressful situation............ it is good to recognise these things when trying to alleviate others distress..........so well done companies for recognising these things sometimes.

I truly hope that this is a sign of businesses caring about their customers and their product and taking care of issues. And of course, some heavenly intervention is always a welcome thing
