You should tell your doctor you smoke pot. It's notorious for having bad effects on people with a tendency toward schizophrenia. May I ask why you're using pot, since you know it makes you poorly? Are you self medicating, that is smoking to make you feel better from another symptom?

You really should tell your doctor.

I am a medical marijuana user as well. A lot of people have told me to stay away from it since I have DID and schizophrenia. It has helped my depression, anxiety, eating disorder and mood though. I do see how it makes me more paranoid. Make my have all kinds of irrational thoughts sometimes and will cause me to dissociate, (disconnect basically) from my current state and pull away from the world. I will sometimes after taking in a large ammount of marijuana, start to feel myself loosing touch with reality. But I have been down this road numerous times. The key (in my opinion) when it is in relation to schizophrenia, is to make sure that you know it's in your head.

When you start to feel the symptoms come over you, remind yourself why you are feeling that way and that it is just a chemical disorder and that it's not real.

If you are showing only negative effects from using marijuana I would suggest stopping it and seeking out professional help. They can help you to find a medication that works better and help you to learn to cope with all of your worries.

I wish you all the best on your journey!
