I am in a relationship with Earl. I love him dearly. But, he is not managing his money very well since he "fired" his last mental health agency's payee. I am going to ask him if he would be willing to have me as his payee. Will he hate me eventually? Has anyone had a successful relationship with a partner when they have become their payee? Would like partners as well as those of u who are diagnosed to give me some feedback.

I have not had a formal payee but my mom has stepped in to handle my money for me. It has worked out well because she knows what I consider important and my weaknesses. I think communication has been important for us, plus I really trust her judgement and honesty...D.
