ok, everyday, I suffer from paranoia and "delusions". People think they are delusions, but I don't agree. Even when I am not manic or depressed. I am getting so sick of it. The other day, the smoke alarm was chirping every 5 minutes and I thought it was (and still think so) a government attempt to kill me and my family. They were going to release co2 or light the house on fire at night. It raised my paranoia out the roof. I also believe that there are tracking chips in us. I told my mom that I am so paranoid everyday and my mom told me "so WHAT?! GET OVER IT!" I felt like crying. I am still so upset. I told my mom that I have these thoughts over and over and she also told me to just stop. I can't control these repetative thoughts. Do any of you have family members that just don't get it? How do you handle it? For me, it turns into nothing but an argument which causes me to want to do bad stuff to myself. I feel awful. On top of this, I have the stress of voices. I wonder if this will ever go away.

It's just trying to tell you the battery is low and needs to be replaced. If you have a fire and the batteries are dead, it won't be able to alert you.

Delusions and paranoia can occur independently from manic or depression. You don't have to be bipolar. A person can have Paranoid Personalty Disorder, PTSD,
schizoaffective, or any one of the schizo subs.

There is a question I have been rumbling over the past 4 months, I never thought about it but my delusions may be independent of my bipolar which would qualify me for schizoeffective. I hope I am not. But if a person gets delusions without any other symptoms, one has to look at other possibilities.

Please do not take this as a diagnosis! Only a doctor can tell for sure and some times like in my case it's not so easy for them too. Good luck to you.

btw don't be troubled too much by your mom. A lot of people simply do nopt understand any form of MI.
