Hey guys,

I just today got perscribed 20mg Saphris nightly.

However, my dad told me to just take my normal 15 mg, as the 20mg might slow me down work wise.

If I follow my dad's words, am I relapsing?

....because my sponsor told me to consider resetting my day count when I told him that I used to go off/lower the dose of my meds to feel more creative...

How has the 15mg worked for you? The sleepyness should not last that long, I would start the 20mg on a day I have off so that the initial kick in of sleepyness can go by and I won't miss school or work. You know yourself better than any doctor, so if you feel your mental health is well enough on 15mg then that is a good place to start.

Actually the sleepyness wasn't too much of a problem. I ended up waking up early enough...though I would stay in bed and worry about stuff. Sometimes I would go back to sleep.

It's hard to say. I sometimes have trouble telling whether my meds are helping or making me more crazy.

I would trust your dr. more then your dad. Your dad doesn't know what your Dr. does and how you are really doing. Your dr. has a reason for upping your dosage. I would do what your dr said and not what your dad is saying cause if your dr. thinks your on 20 and instead your on 15mg the dr. can't help you really well if you go against what he or she has to say about meds
Thanks for this!
